Love this
That's the perfect size for the fringes that I'm making for some friends. Very sturdy. I love the fact that it's jet black. I've knocked them around a few times and no chipping or anything like that, just the quality.

These can handle heavy use.
BEST THING ABOUT IT: they are steelWORST THING ABOUT IT: gate appears to be made of lighter material than the hookADDITIONAL LIKES: no lock makes for a bigger openingADDITIONAL DISLIKES: noneCOMMENTS (Function, Appearance, Quality): These are sturdy feeling carabiners. They are much more heavy duty than the more common light aluminum ones. These seem better suited for heavy work to secure items to belts, tool bags, trucks, etc. where they themselves may come into contact with metal and concrete and be expected to withstand heavier strains that those used for camping or on a backpack. They function well for the aforementioned purposes. They are nicely finished and solid black. They appear to be well made and appear to be able to support the couple hundred pounds stated, as long as the weight is on the ends of the hooks as opposed to to the gated portion.MOST SUITABLE FOR: Anything for which you need a 2 1/4 inch carabinerIS IT WORTH IT?: At ~$13.00 for 10 or $1.30/ea you pay a premium for the steel. IMO, they are worth it to have 10 of these around when you need them.*PRECISE RATING: 4 (minus one for lighter feel of the gate)RECOMMENDATION: I can comfortably recommend these carabiners. In addition to the 2.25” one, I also purchased one pf the 7 inch hooks. I would make both purchases again.(As always, I will report back if there are any durability issues with additional use.)*Any downgrades in rating are a a result of issues identified with one or more of the following: Presentation/Packaging, Quality, Craftsmanship, Materials, Functionality, Utility/Versatility, Instructions, Ease-of-Use, Comfort, Value.NOTE: Also received at 7 inch version which I rated at 4 stars for its sturdiness and utility. Not sure both reviews will appear.

Strong but Lightweight Carabiners
I consider heavy duty to be for climbing or vehicle recovery so these, to me, are light duty. They are, however, strong and easy to use. They clip well and stay well. They are being used to hold tarps in place at the moment over a firewood stack. They clip to the stakes and hold well enough to let the stack breath and not blow off in the wind. I am going to use the leftover clips for other tarps in a similar manner. These are very good for light to medium jobs but you are not going to climb or pull vehicles safely with these.

WOW giant clips
These clips are huge. Seven inches. Beasts in the clip would. We purchased them to attach a sky sail in our back yard. They worked perfectly. Plenty of strength in these clips. The sail will fail before the clips do. They have a very strong closing spring and a great anodized black color. Overall very pleased with them.

If you need to hoist a cow, this will do it
Over the years, I have worn out and gone through many carabiners. Many carabiners are light weight and the hinged clasp gets broken easily. So when I saw this large "heavy duty" carabiner, I thought I would give it a try. Holy Moley! This carabiner is a monster, and almost 1 lb. alone. While it seems quite well-made and strong, this was not quite what I expected. As the term "Heavy Duty" has become vastly overused, I was shocked at just how heavy duty, and heavy, it actually is. And I got the 2-pack! Now I need to devise a use for them; no point in them just laying around waiting for the appropriate job. Although, it is inevitable that they will come in handy for multiple projects down the road. I had planned on bringing one with me when I walk my three dogs, as I've found smaller versions helpful with that in the past. But because it weighs nearly a pound, I will probably opt to find another immediate use, besides their present use as paperweights.
