A little expensive, but very capable with nice innovations
I received mine today and worked with it for about 90 minutes....I just left the stock settings. The pedal is super easy to get setup and feels good right out of the box. Beautiful packaging and beautiful product design....this is undeniable.it is assembled very well and the fit and finish looks great...very sturdy and quiet...I have a somewhat heavy foot and approach with the kick foot.I really like the take down and the bag for carrying to gigs, etc....that is a real triumphI think the stock settings for me are a little light but that is easily remedied...I will raise the footboard just a hair and tighten the spring just a little. Eventually I will add a DW dual side beater because this one is too light for me. With those few veru small adjustments this will be a very excellent pedal for me.I would say it is not better than the demon drive...equally as good seems like an accurate conclusion...at a lower price point...I can switch between both easily which I like. I like the look of this pedal better than the demon drive...both factory beaters are worthless to me..I put a DW on the Demon and will do the same here....I like the feel of the demon drive footboard better for heel toe technique, but this works....but not optimal I guess.I'm going to say it was a very worthwhile purchase; I'm happy with the purchase, I will keep it and will use it regularly along with the demon and the speed cobra.

Almost prefect balance
I have had the pedal for a couple of weeks now and I really like it. I play heal down and it is really well suited for it. It has a wonderfully smooth stroke and I really forget about it while I am playing.....until my foot slips forward on the pedal. When your foot gets close to the top of the foot board it drops tremendously in volume. This is to be expected and will happen with any pedal, but because the perfect balance's foot board is so smooth my, foot ends up there quite a bit so when I am playing at louder volumes I can have instances where I have uneven stroke because of said slippage. It is really just something I will need to get used to, maybe I get new shoes for playing instead of my puma's with absolutely no tread. The other thing I am not 100% in love with is the build quality. It is good, but not great, and for 250 I would expect great. There are weird imperfections in the metal that make it seem chinsey. I am sure it is solid and these are only cosmetic, and It will probably last me 20 years like my Iron Cobra has, but it doesn't give me that comfort like my old cobra did. Feeling wise it reminds me a lot of an old Camco but with that really nice smooth as butter feeling you get with strap drives. So it is unbelievably smooth. Also the folding aspect is pretty sweet and works really will for quick setups.

To begin with I always thought Sonor had very well made drums and equipment. So I was not happy when I received this high dollar pedal , flipped it over and see Made in China on the bottom plate. My pedal also has a squeak in it. From the reviews I have read this seems to be a fairly common occurance . Makes me wonder about the quality control in China. I also had to shorten my strap myself because the pedal was bottoming out when I tried to play it as it's came to me. Straight out the box. I think Sonor needs to address the squeaking problem. Who wants to buy a $ 250 pedal that squeaks . The thing of it all is even though I was unhappy with the shape the pedal arrived in, after I shorten the strap myself the pedal played great. It is a very smooth playing pedal and I do like it. However the squeaking in a pedal this expensive is just about unforgivable. Sonor you need to locate the problem and fix it. NOW !!!

YOU DONT NEED FANCY SHOES. JUST TECHNIQUE.
I play the mess out of this pedal every single day and I have no complaints whatsoever. People are saying the footboard is too smooth and slippery and tends to get "lost" under your foot which makes them fall off the pedal.... Ridiculous. In the 2 years I've had this pedal I've never ran into this problem, as a matter of fact the smoothness allows you to do slide techniques with EASE and the extended pedalboard let's you really lay into the pedal and get some serious volume out of multiple strokes at a time. The single post construction is a definite plus since it allows me to throw my foot all over the place and really capitalize on the extended pedalboard. Double strokes? More like Quadruple strokes. This is the smoothest, most balanced bass pedal I've ever used. I've used other players pedals at gigs and now I'm like "Get that bull out of my face" Anytime someone uses my JoJo pedal they ALWAYS complement it and say that it's so easy and responsive. Hands down the best bass drum pedal in existence.

The Cadillac of kick pedals
Jojo recommends use of this pedal with "leather bottoms" to your shoes, which can be done in any shoe repair shop. With new shoes, I had mine tweaked for $45. I only wear these when I'm drumming. I recommend cloth sneakers, which is what i did. The pairing really works for creating sliding motions and working against much less friction. As a single kick drummer of more extreme hardcore/punk bands, I find this pedal to be the fastest and most relaxing to use. I am able to hit hard while not actually harming the muscles in my leg as I used to, thus is more relaxing on the mind during a furious set. This is also very ideal for when I'm doing low-volume grooves, jazz percussion styles and etc. It's a very simple set-up, and is portable with a bag, which is great for practice at home. I practice along with JoJo's foot/hand technique videos nearly every day. Try this pedal along to a metronome, in order to gain control over it (should take less than 1 week). This pedal renders most pedals as obsolete and I'm considering buying another just as a backup. This thing slays.

Professional Pedal - First class quality and design.
My pedal squeaks a bit. Other than that the pedal is responsive and makes playing double strokes easy. The pedal also folds in half making it easy and compact to store and transport to gigs.
