I unfortunately received a defunct and slightly used item. I bought this for my wife and the units coil was opened and showed slight scuff marks. I decided to give it a try until when she went to use it, it wouldn't stop screaming like a siren. No matter what we tried it wouldn't quit. Also made erratic noises like all the tones trying to play at once at random moments. We turned the sensitivity down and did constant ground balances several times. I own other Minelab products and this one was for sure a dud. The second battery that came with it didn't want to hold charge either. After fully charging it and when we used it the next day it showed one bar shortly after turning it on. I didn't pay for a used GM1000. Such a shame because I wanted one for so long. Now I've been waiting on a delayed refund for something that wasted my time. At this point I'm upset and want my refund. No more wasted time with this seller or shipping partner.
