Bought for boyfriend who is a habitual nail biter. He'd subconsciously bite until his nail and skin would hurt and bleed. After quickly realizing that his life long habit was not gonna go away on its own I figured I'd give this a try. It has zero gloss to it and looks like a traditional nail polish bottle. Reluctantly he let me "paint" his nails and after day 1 he stopped the biting. The taste is baaaaad, not exaggerating even in the slightest, its one of the worst things I've tasted.WARNING: when applying to someone else, either use a paper towel or gloves because somehow the gloss leaks and gets on your hand/finger and even after washing your hands immediately after, you taste this sucker for a good hour.The taste completely deterred him from biting, although he did forget once and out of habit put his finger on his lip.... that was enough to not go any further. Be careful when eating finger foods, you'll definitely ruin your meal after 1 lick of your fingers lol. He did mention that after 3 days or so he noticed the polish disappearing and surprisingly asked me to reapply it. Its been 2 weeks now and OMG his hands look amazing. After years of his family trying to get him to stop, this little bad boy did the trick. So happy!

I’m really pleased with this purchase! I’ve been a nail biter for 22 years and this has finally encouraged me to stop.Apply once every ~3 days, either on bare nails or on polish. It doesn’t have a shine. Be careful the first 12 or so hours, because the taste WILL transfer to anything your nails touch. It‘s nasty enough to deter you from putting fingers anywhere near your mouth, but it’s not so nasty as to make you ill if it happens.If I happen to get through the entire bottle (which is doubtful, I’ve hardly made a dent in it), I would be happy to purchase again.

This stuff works. We struggled with my son biting his nails for years. We tried everything. Including other stuff that is spicy. He eventually got used to the spice. He can eat pretty spicy food too so that didn’t last long at all. I tried every method I searched on the internet. For years. Then I came across this one and tried it b/c I was desperate.This stuff is potent. Be aware, you may need to wear gloves and masks b/c you can taste what you smell while you put it on. And it can also get on your hands. Indeed, it's nasty.The reason for 4 stars is that you need to put it on every day. In our case, every night when he was going to bed. He would bite them lying on his bed. If you forget to do that, it sort of goes away in 2 days. And he would get used to the taste (b/c it’s not as strong) and bite them again. I wish it would last longer.I also ran into another woman at the park and she had been struggling with this habit all her life. So I immediately brought it (yes I went back to the park after going home to get it) and applied it on her nails. She then later told me that it worked! And sent me the picture of her nails!! Needless to say, she bought one too.

El sabor es sumamente amargo y mientras más tratas tratando de quitártelo más se expande. Cumple excelentemente lo que promete, no me dan ganas de llevármelo a la boca cuando se que lo tengo. Llevo pocos días probandolo y ya me están un poco largas las uñas.

I’ve been trying to help my five year old stop biting his nails. I was admittedly a bit too excited for this product, I was hoping to finally find an end to the constant battle over nail biting. I was also secretly a little bit eager to see that first accidental taste. Don’t worry, I ended up getting my just deserts. After applying to my child’s nails, I was sitting in wait, eyes watching closely, when suddenly there was this awful bitter, ear waxy flavor in my mouth. Yep, I got the first taste and boy was it awful. It took a few washes to remove it. So wear gloves when applying to someone else, I did wash my hands throughly after applying and it still lingered, strongly.Anyway, my child got a taste too and at first was not thrilled by it, but quickly and unfortunately got used to it. I tried reapplying but it was no use. So no it did not work for us, but it lives up to its promise of a disgusting reminder not to bite fingers as long as you have normal tastebuds. It is also clear without any shine, nails look natural and unpainted if you’re worried about that, don’t, no one will ever know your nails have paint on them, unless you feed them with your fingers. This product works so good I forget I have it on my nails and bite. The polish is a shocking reminder to stop.

Well I did some research before I bought this. My 7 yr old daughter is a nail biter and cuticle biter. Terrible! I put this on at bed time one night and the next day when she stuck her fingers in her mouth she was so confused and grossed out. Product works! All I have to do now is threaten to put it on her and she will stop. Thanks for this gross but good product!
