RØDEM1-S Live Performance Cardioid Dynamic Microphone with Lockable Switch for Live Vocals and Music Production

As much as I love the sound of this mic, I can not give more than 2 stars. Unfortunately my confidence in the product itself has been massively knocked. Two of these I have had to returned to amazon because of issues around the mic on/off switch. First one the switch was in the off position only for the mic to be live and second one was sometimes off when you switched off the mic, not very good when you are busy doing other things whilst DJing. You need the confidence to switch off the mic and put down with out having to worry if it has switched off or finding out with feedback that the mic is still live when you've put the switch into the off position. Not a feature I want from a mic!Not sure if a faulty batch of these mics have been shipped out by mistake? I could understand one being faulty but to have the second one turn up with a similar fault, it says to me that there has been a production issue!

Excellent feedback rejection, built like a tank, cheaper, warmer sounding and much longer warranty than the "industry standard" SM58. The only downside to this mic is it costs about a third more than the switchless M1 and only comes with a 10 year warranty (regular M1 has a life time warranty). The regular Rode M1 is my go to live mic, for applications where I need a switch (i.e. looper mic) I use one of these.
