Great packaging
Product arrived in a well packaged Amazon box, but product itself is in a box that contains Styrofoam holder for the glass pallette. What amazed me about the care in packaging is the Styrofoam is cut to shape! A box case to hold the glass with a sleeve cut to hold over it. Shows care that product arrives intact. Good manufacturer!I know this will work great for my paints and I can't wait to use it.

Just what I was looking for
I have been using a plastic palette for years, and really wanted something that was a little easier to clean. I work in acrylics and tubed watercolors. I have always had trouble cleaning plastic palettes when using acrylics. This glass palette is perfect for them. The dried acrylic peels right off. Even better, the smooth surface allows a razor blade to easily scrape off any residue. I have found it to be equally good for using tubed watercolors. Simply running it under hot water after use cleans it right up. For watercolor use, I would prefer to have a white surface as opposed to this grey. Maybe if one side was white? Not a deal-breaker though. This thing is a great addition to my studio.

Excellent!
In Todd Casey’s book, “The Oil Painter’s Handbook”, the author stresses the benefits of using a gray toned palette. This in turn provides a way to help orient the oil painters sensibilities as to determining neutral and contrasting tones. For example, if I was to squeeze out some gray paint of the same hue and tone onto this palette, the paint would appear almost invisible. By adding other colors, I could then observe if the additions would be lighter or darker than the average or close to average tone. These elements can all help an artist create better composition, mood, action, etc., in the painting. Obviously, based on this knowledge, I am going to like this palette. It seems to be made with a certain kind of tempered glass, if I’m not mistaken. It doesn’t feel or look as brittle or fragile as regular glass. I do prefer glass palettes for oil painting. I’ve had only one other kind of glass palette before, but it was a very light gray, which didn’t help much. This palette, this color gray that is used, is much more practical. As I’ve indicated above, it strives toward a middle value. A middle value as in not the darkest, not the lightest, but roughly right at the mid point between those two polar opposites. So far, so good. Scrapes clean with palette knife, or can easily be wiped down with paper towels and OMS. Recommend!

Easy to clean, lots of room for paint!
I like how light weight this palette is, yet sturdy and stays in place on my desk surface. I have lots of room for paint and mixing paints. The benefit and pro in having this glass palette instead of a paper palette or covered stay wet palette is there is no buckling happening with the glass underneath the paint or shifting like you have with a paper palette or stay-wet palette. Ok, a paper palette has its place in using it, especially if you are not in an office/studio. And a stay-wet palette that seals after your done is a great place to store those extra mixes of paint that you want to save for tomorrow, etc.. But my go to at home is this easy to use grey glass palette. If I have left over paint, it can go into a stay-wet palette or container. I was able to easily wipe wet paint off the glass and for a small thin layer I let dry on the glass came off easily using a palette knife and gently scraping it off. Large amount of dried paint can be peeled off or scraped with a palette knife. The grey colored glass helps you see your colors clearly and easily. Look how the yellow color pops on the palette! It comes securely packed in a styro-foam type package so there is no movement and protected from any bumps etc. Can be stored in this slim box when not using. But is pretty enough to keep on your desktop or workspace. The palette edges are all rounded and sides are smooth. I am so glad I got this!
