EXCELLENT control hub.
I've used two of these, now, for some LED projects for my business and am VERY happy with the features and performance of this particular control hub.I work with a lot of LED components for the decor I make and have thus experimented with a wide variety of these Bluetooth LED control hubs. Each tends to come with its own perks and pitfalls, however this particular hub is, in my opinion, easily my absolute favourite for a number of reasons:PROS:- Versatile use - compatability with a wide array of LED strips including COB as well as your more standard array of ARGB- Extremely reliable /stable Bluetooth connection (by FAR the best I've found out of every control hub I've tested)- Quick connection - no waiting for it to register in your available devices, and unlike every other hub I've used, this one remains connected even if you walk away and come back hours later (it appears to automatically reconnect), which other control hubs don't tend to do. Most others once you are out of range requires reconnecting to the device within the app. This does not do that. It may seem like a small benefit but it is an absolute godsend for the types of products I am using this hub for.- The app is FANTASTIC. Good UI design, reliable functionality, quick command reception, great range. Bad UI design is the bane of my existence (I probably missed my calling as a UX designer, lol) and 9/10 of these LED hubs have some god awful UIs that leave a lot to be desired. This BalanX app, however, is pretty damn solid. It's fast, and my favourite feature of all is that it freaking allows for custom created modes (ie. If you want to create a strobe or pattern of your own colour choices, you can do that). THAT is a feature that is obnoxiously rare. Other units may offer a wide array of patterns, but few let you craft your own, save for Pixel-based ones and those are far more expensive. For the price and performance, this hub is OUTSTANDING.- Small, discreet, and easy to make portable with a pocket sized power supply. Part of my product line requires a portable capability with a hidden control hub and power supply. This hub is small and easily achieves this with the right power source. For 5v LED strips, I utilize an Anker Power Core that has a 5v output, and for the COB strips that use a 12v draw, more powerful Anker core works great. This unit can handle the typical voltage array, so it just boils down to the right matching supply for whatever LED strip you use.CONS: I only really have three minor complaints centered around the app.- On / off of the hub, once you've selected an "on/off pattern" can be oddly delayed. There's a feature in which you can set the device to have a pattern on/off that is pretty cool, but there's an odd delay once you set this up so it can take a min for the device to turn on. Why, I don't know, but if you go to turn it on and the LED strip doesn't immediately light up, give it a few min and it will, so don't be alarmed by that.- Limited # of favorites - for some reason, out of 140 or so patterns, you can only favourite a handful of them. I'm not sure why this is the case, as other apps like LEDHue allow you to favourite as many as you want, but BalanX is frustratingly limited. Bad news if you're like me and want to favourite 30 or so. This seems like more of an oversight than a limitation and likely could be fixed with a firmware update if they ever decide to.- Can't SAVE custom created patterns - this is probably my more critical complaint with the app. You can create some awesome custom patterns, but so far it doesn't appear you can SAVE them, so you have to manually recreate these if you want to go back to one you made before. This again seems like more of an oversight than a limitation. If BalanX were to fix either of these issues, I would have zero cons on this list which is pretty remarkable. All in all, I give these a 9/10 score, with the only detractor being a couple nonsensical app limitations, but even with those in mind, the app is still superior to the others I've used, and the unit itself thus far has the best Bluetooth connection out of all the similar size and designed hubs on the market.

Not working properly.
The device is not working. After you sync it with the app is not working. Is just lighting up random colors. You are not able to control it with the app. Only for a minute or so works. After that is not responding.

The best addresable LED controller available
This controller is the go-to if you have addressable LEDs. I have it hooked up to some WS2814s, and I'm super happy with the ways I can control it. The fact that I can do either wifi or Bluetooth is so helpful for when the wifi is out. The setup was incredibly easy and the BanLanX app is fine. Wish that it was Tuya, but banlanX has great features as well. This in my opinion is the go-to no-brainer addressable LED Strip controller

A strong upgrade to the workhorse SP-630E that doubles the number of pixels, adds Google Home, Alexa
[ Edit 2024-06-05: Fixed typo in subject line. Added section on power supply voltage. ]This is the Speril SP-530E controller, the successor to the Sp-630e that's ruled the industry for years. (No, I don't understand their naming scheme at all.) It uses the BanlanX app that controls all their, well, controllers. If you have one controller in your toolbox or inventory, the SP-530E is a good choice as it controls pretty much every signaling combination you'll find in strip or rope lighting. The 530e, like the 630e, also supports 2D applications allowing patterns in matrix Ws2812-style layouts, allowing you to pick 8x8, 8x32, 16x16, 32x32, etc. to make either accent lighting in straight lines or patterns in a matrix. Also unlike the less expensive models (I can't say "lower numbered") these will support up to 1200 pixels, which is about the max of pixels you ever want on an 800khz WS2812 protocol line anyway. This also makes it a good "if you stock only one, it should be this one" choice because it'll handle large displays and every combination of monochrome, color, RGB, SPI-RGB, RGB-WW, and other industry alphabet soup.It pairs with RF remote (for security), WiFi and Bluetooth (for control only; you can't splash pixels over wifi) and, over the Speril SP-630e, adds support all the popular home assistant software. If your needs in lighting are super simple, you can save a few dollars and go down (up?) a few entries in the Speril line, but the SP-530 is a great one-shot choice because it handles it all. Unlike, say, the SP-638E, you can subsegment a strip into portions so you can make a display wrap at wall or door vertices, for example. It also doubles the number of pixels over the older SP-630E from 600px to 1200px to help with the increasingly dense strip needs.Notice that like all the Speril line, there is an LVDO to control the onboard micro from any voltage you put into the DC 5521 jack (5, 12, 24V, etc.) but what goes to the strip is what you put in. There is no high-current voltage regulator for the strips, so be sure that the voltage you feed this device is the voltage the strip expects - there is no setting that will "save" your strip if you make this mistake. It's up to you to provide enough current to supply your strip. If you see discoloration at the end of the runs or your whites turn to muddy reds, assume that your power supply is too wimpy for the task at hand.I'm pleased with the Sp-530 and have been finding permanent homes for my remaining SP-630e's.

Worked great
Was able to download the app and get this connected to my phone with no issues. The LED strip I was using had some color issues, but the controller was working fine.

It works
Ordered this for a LED strip I have that wouldn't work with any of the other controllers I have...The strip I'm using requires 24 volts and this controller is handling that perfectly without heating up.The app to control the controller could definitely be a bit better, but as of now it works as it should and that's all that matters.
