DC Comics Superman: The Golden Age Volume 5

A return to innocence
The 70's and 80's were the beginning of my disappointment with comics--they tried so hard to be adult. I love the return to innocence where you could hope, dream and plan to be a better person. These stories in this volume take me back to that time, place and sensibility. The artwork is still in its 30's phase starting to become the 40's Superman, so it's still a little rough (I'm waiting for Curt Swan and Al Plastino to emerge). Still, this is a good volume to have to see the growth of Superman.

I hope it is not the last one. DC keep them coming
Arrived on time. Looks nice production-wise. Fun, simple, innocent stories that make you forget the rough times today.Volume 5 takes you from mid 1942 to early 1943. 400 pages. I don't know if this will be the last one, I hope not. Lois, Perry, Luthor, the Prankster appear.I approve the change in the front and back cover. Less drab, more colorful. It copies Marvel too much, but it's ok. It displays the beautiful original covers of the issues that appear in the book plus it keeps the spine the same as previous volumes. DC gets a 100% with this one. I hope Superman Golden Age omnibus 7 is in production so I can order it.
