Lost 10 pounds eating this quinoa
Weight loss. This stuff has helped me keep off 10 pounds. I'm 5'11" and down to 140 from 150 in January 2015. I swear to god this is the single reason I have lost/kept off weight.I don't care if it occasionally has a few pieces of grit in it; this is a good price, and I'm sure our ancestors dealt with far more than the occasional particle in their food. The red quinoa has this quality about it: it is firmer than the white. That means it's rather difficult to accidentally turn it into porridge, which I almost always do with the white. Its taste is also superior. A general principle is that more-pigmented foods have better nutritiona profiles than lighter-pigmented foods, so it probably is better for you than white quinoa. It is also filling - what with all the amino acids, it can 100% substitute for all other starches/grains in your diet.

Excellent Quality Quinoa!
The funniest part about my discovery of quinoa, My first try of this seed "as a grain" was while cooking for my Siberian Huskies. I sort of had to do the Atkins type diet for our Sibes...very low grain carbs & high protein. Upon trying it, our first dive into quinoa was Bob's Mill and the usual white/tan...it was a big hit for us humans and the huskies. Finding quinoa in the grocery store can be a big hit/miss. If and when we find it, this can get pretty pricy and the quantity goes rather fast. We enjoy quinoa more than rice and love how it's so easy to prepare (similar, yet easier than whole grain rice). This red variety of quinoa is very good! Again, this is our first discovery (for red, this time around), but what a pleasant surprise...it has a slightly richer flavor. I noticed while looking around (throughout amazon) that both the red and black varieties are generally higher in price than the regular. Finding the red (10 lbs.) at Angelina's Gourmet was a nice bargain, even with shipping, we ended up paying roughly half the price per pound of what we'd normally find locally. We will definitely be purchasing this red quinoa and from Angelina's Gourmet again. Highly recommended. Next try will be the black variety of quinoa too!

jimmy crack corn, n I dont care
well I bought this stuff cuz its cheap as hell compared to the health food store. It is pretty awesome. A 10 lb bag will last you forever and you can creative with this stuff. I like it as a side dish in place of rice and putting it in soups in small amounts. Good stuff and healthy for you. They have gone so crazy with gene manipulation, hybrids, and cross breading that I dont hardly eat some stuff such as corn anymore. It drags down my immune system so Quinoa is a good addition to my healthy food line up. give it a shot!

Best Price Per Ounce
The reason why I gave this 4 stars is because of the price per ounce and the quality of the product. If you have never tasted it, it has a hint of nuts for the taste. If you season it well you can change the taste.Dislike: Sometimes you might get some crunchy bites when you make a 2 cup batch, at least when I did. That might be my issue though due to washing e.g.Overall really good nutritious product at a great price.

Bad quality and torn bag
As soon as I open the box I found quinoa outside the plastic bag. I soon realized there was a hole about the size of a quarter on the bottom of the bag, not where I opened the box! I wonder how much of the grain was lost during shipping! I am very disappointed that the packaging department did not catch the hole in the bag before they placed it in the box for shipping! Now I still need to clean up my kitchen floor of the tiny grain!Used it for the first time last night. There were so many of these 1/4" size twigs in them. I have to pick them out one by one when I washed it! I have used other brands of quinoa before and never had that problem. Overall they are cheaper than their competitors, BUT SACRIFICING THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT IS NOT THE WAY TO DO BUSINESS!All the company did was apologized for all the inconvenience!

DISAPOINTED!
I AM DISAPOINTED...I AM SORRY BUT THE PRODUCT I PURCHASED WAS NOT AS ADVERTISED. THE CLOSE UP PICTURES OF THE QUINOA RED APPEARED TO BE THE SAME SIZE AS KERNALS OF CORN .. &I LOVE CORN SO I DECIDED TO GIVE IT A TRY. IT DIDNT MATTER HOW I SEASONED IT I JUST COULD NOT BRING MYSELF TO ENJOY IT.ALSO IT STICKS IN YOUR TEETH, AND FEELS LIKE IM EATING ANTS. IM SORRY FOR BEING SO BLUNT,BUT YOU ASKED FOR MY COMMENT AND MY EXPERIENCE.I AM NOT ASKING FOR A REFUND I WILL LIVE WITH MY DECISION TO BUY AND TRY IT AND WILL FIND ONE OF MY FRIENDS WHO WILL TAKE IT OFF MY HANDS NO CHARGE.THANK YOU..JIM

Delicious and Nutritious
I prefer the red quinoa to the more common variety (white? brown? beige? golden?), or you can mix them for an interesting color combination. If you use no more than half of the other quinoa, the taste is almost the same. It's really easy to cook quinoa in the rice cooker: 1-1/2 cups of quinoa to 2 cups of liquid (water, chicken broth, etc.); add a little salt if you like and vóila! A delicious breakfast or a side dish for dinner. You can get the more common color to mix when you cook: Bob's Red Mill Organic Whole Grain Quinoa, 26-Ounce Packages (Pack of 4); Eden Organic Quinoa, 16-Ounce Package (Pack of 5); Arrowhead Mills Quinoa, 14-Ounce Packages (Pack of 6); Ancient Harvest Organic Quinoa, Traditional, 12-Ounce Bags (Pack of 12); Melissa's Quinoa South American, 8-Ounce Bags (Pack of 12)

Nutritious, but not delicious!
Actually I am disappointed in the red quinoa. I love white quinoa and read some of the reviews about the red and was expecting it to be even more flavorful. It is not as flavorful in my opinion and doesn't cook up as nicely.
