It's a scoop
Have not used it much yet and only for cleaning up leaves and tree bits. Not too heavy and feels well built.

Good value, decent quality, and sturdy enough to get the job done!
I think this is a decent performing and good quality shovel for the money that’s ideal for a variety of different jobs. The overall quality seems pretty good, everything is made from metal apart from the handle and it feels very sturdy even when lifting heavier loads. It’s probably not going to last forever but its durable enough to get a large job done and then some so for the money I can’t complain.I've just started building a base for my new shed and this shovel was perfect for moving the gravel out of the ton bags. It’s got a nice large face so you can get plenty of material on it and the thin, fairly sharp edge allows you to get under whatever you’re shovelling.Overall, I feel you can’t go wrong with S&J tools and even the lower value products are still well-made enough to handle most jobs. At around £20 I feel it represents good value for money, it’s a product I’m more than happy to recommend and I feel it's worth the full five stars, buy with confidence!

Great shovel, small handle
This is a good shovel. It's solid, durable and should last a long time if looked after. The only downside is the handle, it's not very wide at all. If you have larger hands you might struggle to actually get your hand into it due to the narrow width. Overall though this is a strong, well made shovel and if you don't have huge hands you should have no trouble.

A shovel with a professional quality feeling
This shovel has a professional quality feel about it. Suitably weighty to use, it promises durability. The metal body has solid welded joints (see photos) and the coated finished should prove to be rust inhibiting over prolonged use. The wooden grip handle (see photo) is comfortable in use. I didn't find any rough patches or sharp snags anywhere on the metal or welded joints. In use, I found earth didn't cling to or clog onto the blade. It was also particularly easy to wash clean at the end of the session. Wiping it over with a cloth and leaving it out in the sun meant it dried quickly. For anyone who wants a dependable shovel for their garden work, this looks to be an excellent choice.
