I'm a little confused by the filter, and maybe disappointed
I have the whole filter, these are the replacements. The device tells you the percentage left on the filter, and when it gets close to zero, you put in a new one.But when mine reached that point, I noticed the old one was covered with dust, so I vacuumed it off, and it looked just like it was new. Well I thought that probably the deeper parts might be as filled with smaller particles as the surface was with dust, and I can't vacuum that, but I was a little suspicious at that point. So I decided to check what happened if I replaced that vacuumed filter and reset it to "new", and at that point it showed 100% again and it's operating exactly as before. It may be going down a little more quickly than before - in two weeks it's down 16%, but I'm puzzled. If the thing isn't filtering properly, then why is it willing to show a high percentage? What is the mechanism used to check whether it's filtering if all I have to do is reset it to 100%.My sense is that it's filtering just like it was before. Which may mean not as well as I had hoped. To me, if the thing is accurately measuring how well the filter is filtering, it should simply measure it regardless of what I tell it.One very likely possibility is that it is just measuring the number of hours the filter has been in use. If that is the case, and that's not unreasonable, I wish they would just say so.I'm feeling the same benefits as before, one of which is that I hardly ever have to clear my nose, when before I got the device, I had to do it multiple times in a day and it was a constant problem. Also there was dust piling up everywhere in a very visible way. That's not occurring with the reset filter.I wish I could know what's really going on. As it is, I'll probably go through the full 100% a few times, vacuuming off the heavy coat of dust, or doing that a few times along the way, and then switch to a new filter. There's no question this device is doing something very useful, but I'm not really grasping the truth of the filter thing. I have it running around the clock, and I was surprised that the filter only lasted a couple of months. With this method, however, it will probably last six months. But am I missing some deeper level of filtering of much smaller particles doing it this way? I wish I knew a way to find out.

Not a good fit, and doesn't do a very good job eliminating smells in air.
I have 2 other types of electric air hepa filters, and they work really well at eliminating odors in the air (like "skunk smoke") but the Jaranda filter doesn't do nearly as much multitasking and these filters cost me 30% more. One issue could be that after heavy use, I noticed dust was getting in from around filter edge. So I ended up making sure it was sealed. However, it still doesn't compare to my Honeywell (and their filters are more than 30% lower priced.)All in all, the machine has great features, bit of the filter isn't good, it doesn't matter what the machine can do.
