Incredible Scissors!
I recently got into leatherworking, and needed a more more robust pair of shears. At a certain point, the standard, cheap, plastic-handled scissors just can't cut it anymore (pun intended).I began researching heavy duty scissors or shears, and consistently among reviews, Wiss W22W scissors were ranked exceedingly highly. If you want the takeaway, you can stop reading now, and just buy these scissors! As I mentioned, I bought these shears in order to cut leather, and they have excelled at that. I started with relatively light 2-3oz leather, which had already proven a challenge for my old scissors. These shears blazed through it as if it wasn't even there, so quickly that I almost cut my finger! Having passed my first test with flying colors, I stepped up the difficulty to several stacked layers of wool cloth, and again, the scissors went through it like a hot knife through butter. As a laugh, I decided to try to cut through a sheet of 8-9oz leather. For those of you that are unfamiliar, that's 3/16" of solid leather. And once again, these scissors barely slowed down. What's most impressive to me is that no matter where on the blade the material is, the scissors cut equally well. In many cheaper scissors, especially when cutting through tougher or thicker materials, the tips of the blades will bend or deflect, and fail to cut the material. These scissors are extremely thick, and even when cutting through the 8-9oz leather, there was no tip deflection. Absolutely incredible. Both blades of the shears are sharpened, and they're curved against each other in such a way that they cut extremely well. They're also adjustable via the pivot bolt, which is excellent for a long life. As the shears wear in, you can tighten them to take out any loosening. My overall takeaway and final thoughts: these are incredibly well-made, effective, and durable scissors, that will cut pretty much anything you want them to cut. For less than $40, there is not a better deal on the market.

Good quality.
Purchased these shears to cut insulation, they are really sharp right out of the box and so far have held an edge well.

Great for Trimming Carpet Pad
I got this to cut up carpet pad I was pulling up during a remodel. The carpet itself is easy to cut with a knife, but the pad has too much flex. These shears are easy to use on the floor to cut strips of the pad after the carpet comes up. I lay the strips out on a folding table, then use the shears again to cut the strips into manageable sized squares that can be boxed or bagged for disposal. I've tried power rotary cutters, metal shears, and several sizes of knife, and this is best suited for the job.

Big, hefty, and high quality!
I was looking for a rugged pair of scissors just like what Mom has been keeping at the ready in her kitchen drawer for the last 40 years and has been working perfectly for all that time. I think I found it!

Quality and Feel
Unfortunately the quality and the finish were not as expected WISS have dropped there standards by not paying attention the finish of there shears they are rough will tool mark present My original pair have a smooth finish and japaned handles with a smooth blade and no tool marks a far fall in standards from then to now circa 1960's they also had a lump in the handle paint that has to be removed as was painful to use when squeezing for the cost of these Crescent Tool Co. need to do better with the finish.

Perfect affordable tailors scissors
They are HUGE but that is exactly what I wanted. I do a lot of tailoring and sewing and they are perfect for that. I can make long cuts (finally not jagged!!) and it works on any fabric. I got sick of my fabric scissors that hurt my wrists more because I felt like there wasn't much leverage. I'm a woman with very weak arm strength and I can still manage, but I think it's really up to personal preference as to what you want in your scissors. If you do mainly quilting, don't get these. A rotary cutter will be much better for that. I loosened the nut a little bit also.

Comically large cartoon scissors
Hilariously large scissors that I regretted purchasing as soon as I opened the box. But the time sensitive attic insulation project had to move forward, so I kept them despite their size and weight. I am so so glad I didn’t return these scissors. They are perfect for cutting rolled insulation and made my project go so much quicker.I do wish the black on the handles held up better as it chips off easier. They clearly cheaped out there by not using japaning. The handles chip quickly but this doesn’t impact cutting.
