product looks good so far just got it installed arrived like at 5 and i finished putting everything back at 10 pretty fast only 300 stars tho cause i got a single cab the twinkle box is small enough to hide and strings are more than long enough all i will prolly do is cut the cig lighter port wire and hard wire it to a fuse maybe so it turns on and off with the truck

Got it in and it looks and works amazing;HOWEVER, on 1 setting, it sounds like the motor about to fall out the unit lol...

I got this fiber optic starlight kit because it looked like a cool concept. This does state that it is used for a headliner of your vehicle, but I just don’t see doing that. However, I thought for your bedroom ceiling that this could be awesome. Although I needed to get some kind of thin material to hold it in place. Instead, I ran across the ceiling and then put some sheer curtains over a section of the ceiling that I’ve done. It is still working progress, but so far it is going good.

I wanted to give something so different and special that the parents and grandparents would be blown away. This is not my first star ceiling but it was the easiest as it was a small room so did not require a large panel. I love this kit because it has everything I need to make the star/twinkle ceiling except the panel the fiber optic "threads" are pushed through and then bundled together. It's more than just a tad tedious doing it yourself, but it is not at all hard, just takes a good deal of time after figuring out the spacing and drilling all the holes to accomodate the fiber optics cables (I call them threads as they are fairly fine). I painted the ceiling panel that will be seen in a marbled dark blue with a bit of deep purple. Black was just too plain and dark in my opinion for this baby room. Once I had all the fibers threaded and glued in place, then bundled so they are not just like a huge tangle on the non-seen side, and added some "L" channel wood around the edges to allow this new ceiling to be attached (I also added a strip light on this channel to turn on for bright light in the room). The kit is great - gives you everything except the panel for your car or a small room (or your car) though I did have to replace the cigarette lighter type of power plug with a regular one. I do love the colors and how the fiber optic stars can be dimmed down to pretty much nothing, or fairly bright, but as I mentioned, for the room during the day, I added a bright white strip light to the channel and that shines on the walls all around the room so gives off bright light during the day if needed. But I have to tell you, all the work to create the night sky in this new baby's room left the mom and dad awestruck - they have a rocker in the small room so if they do have to get up at night to get baby back to sleep, they have the night sky twinkling above them and they both thought that was the coolest thing they could have in the room. I'm very happy that I could make their new addition's room just that much more special with this lighting kit!

If you want to install these lights, you can find the instructions on the "how to" on Amazon's page for the item (and actually if you scroll up on the page where this review is, you should find them). However when I saw that you needed to take the roof off your car to install them inside, I figured I would need to call a friend who repairs cars to help. While he says this is a big job, I still may want to try them out (as long as my husband agrees). I can't wait to see how these lights look.But, if, after speaking with my friend, if these lights proves to be really hard to install, I like that I can always cut them down to the size I want them (as there seems to be instructions that are included with the lights on how to do this). The only odd thing (if I read the instructions right), was that the in the instructions they send to you with the item, other are told only on the instructions on how to cut the lights down, nothing about having to cut the roof off and all the other steps included to install them in your car. I had to go to the Amazon page for this item, to find out the instructions on how to install them into my car.
