Mt. Meru Medicines Blissful Golden Milk Superblend - Ayurvedic Elixir with High Curcumin Lakadong Turmeric - 30 Sachets (2.12oz /60g)

Okay - I don't normally even cook with these herbs, much less have I ever tried a drink such as this -- it's only more recently that I have started looking into ayurvedic medicine and started trying different supplements to try to help fill some 'cracks' in my normal (western) health care collection of medicines. (I am not replacing anything, just supplementing existing scripts I'm on). I finally gathered up my courage to give this a try and... I don't exactly know what kind of flavor I was expecting, but this is actually very pleasant! I do use a lot of sugar in my warm drinks normally, to be fair, but I am not sure it even needed as much as I tossed in there - I was expecting a bit of a tang from the Ginger, but all of the flavors are actually quite smooth and blended together well, so that even someone who is not used to these types of spices (that would be me) I am pleasantly surprised at just how good it tastes. At this point, any medicinal benefits is a pleasant aside versus the primary reason to drink this. It comes in its own little sachets so you don't need to measure anything out, and is in a nice presentable box which would look good as a gift to a friend or family member.

This review is for, “Mt. Meru Medicines Blissful Golden Milk Superblend”. I’m a big fan of golden milk. I started making my own blends a few years ago and have since tried prepared blends. This blend, with the addition of saffron and cardamom, is very unique. These two spices contribute quite a different flavor profile that is difficult to describe but well worth trying. This preparation has an overall, milder flavor. The pepper is light and the ginger is toned down.
