Squier Sonic, brilliant guitar for the money!!
The media could not be loaded. Apologies for the video first off, but I wanted people to hear it so you get some idea of what it sounds like.I'm no professional when it comes to guitars but I have a clapton blackie, a Mexican white strat and this one I have I got for Xmas. I used it for a gig on NYE and have to say I love it. Without trying to write too much and bore everyone. So if I have a clapton strat why go for this one , talk about going from one end of the spectrum to the other. The color is stunning, I absolutely love this color, the sound as you can hear in the video is pretty impressive, the one thing I would say is , I always mainly stick to the middle pickup, or the neck pick up. I found the bridge pick up a bit too twangy for me but with some adjustments to the pickup it might help. The feel of the neck for me is smooth it doesn't have a glossy finish and some people might not like that. It's not as heavy as the clapton strat or the Mexican strat and compared to the two it feels cheap, but don't let that fool you.Playability wise, well you can see how well it plays and I'm no pro obviously lol. This is a little gem.Value for money, if you're a beginner or someone who loves to experiment with other guitars then for £169.99 you can't go wrong. Can it do with some work, yes, if you know what you are looking for. The one I got the frets aren't sharp, but it could do with abitof filing down , the switch is a little cheap, but everything else to me is what you expect on a squier. If you're on sound snob but love the guitar, then changing the pickups shouldn't be a problem for you.It comes with a T1 set up. I.et he action is quite low.The last bit what's in the box ?It doesn't come with a case but it does come with the certificate and 2 Alan keys. One for the trusrod and one for the hard tail bridge.Sorry if I bored you, I hope this helps.Happy New Year 2025
