Some good American made work boots
I was looking for some good work boots and these are them waterproof and comfortable also American made boots.

Husband approved
These have held up great so far with all of the work my husband does around the farm (cutting down trees, chopping wood, mowing, tearing down buildings, concrete work, etc). He oils them every so often to keep them clean and in good condition.

Less comfortable, more durable
I have a pair of the original heritage design with a wedge outsole of this same boot. I bought the 1957 waterproof version to use while hiking in the forest on loose terrain. I will be comparing the two.The American Heritage version is not waterproof.Drawback: to fit the waterproof membrane, the shock absorbing foam like midsole made of Poron has been eliminated. See Rose Anvil’s review for more details on the construction of these boots. I would recommend a good aftermarket insole.Benefit: the leather is not as soft and pliable but seems more abrasion resistant and durable. The 90 degree heel and more aggressive lugs on the outsole are better for grip but reduce comfort.

American jobs
These are beautiful boots! Full grain leather takes some breaking in but once you get the tounge where you want it they are comfortable out of the box, and get better with time. I also have an American heritage flat bottom pair that I use for working maintenance. I bought these for hiking and more mountain focused activities, because I needed a heel. My only complaint is the company produces such nice quality boots, so why not include som leather or Kevlar laces? The laces are not the same caliber as the boots.

Dissatisfied
Bought these as a meaningful gift after years of my boyfriend wanting Thorogoods for work. Delivery was stressful and delayed, and the pull tab broke on the first wear. We expected better quality and support for the price. It was disheartening to deal with so many issues for something meant to be special. No real resolution, fixing it ourselves. Won’t go this route again

Thorogood soft toe boot
These for some reason run very small and have a plastic reinforced toe box. The reinforced toe box feels like a composite toe work boot, but it is not a safety toe boot.
