Must have if you have a thick carpet, we bought a carpet which my office chair just leaves nasty dints after I've sat down a while (I'm not heavy either) I got this and the dints are no more, plus I can roll my chair back and forth as well now. It's thick and sturdy. I had to use my husband's weights to flatten it as it comes rolled up and is hard to get on the floor. But don't give up.

This product is meant to protect your carpets and at does a decent job of that. However what brings down the rating is 2 issues. The first is that the plastic itself is not quite thick enough to prevent your chair wheels from sinking in and getting stuck until you roll out of it. The second issue is far worse and that isthe plastic it is made of was not allowed to off-gas before being shipped resulting in the mat smelling of acrid amonia until I left it outside in the sun for 2 weeks.Given that the price is more costly than just buying a pack of laminate I expected a better product that does not start out smelling of cat urine.

it is a very good product, I should of made sure i ordered the right one for my type of carpet
