Umbra Wall Mounted Shelf, Vertical/Horizontal, 24.4 x 18.5 inches (62 x 47 cm), Black

I have a few curtain rods made by Umbra that I bought years ago, and really love their finial design and good quality -- so this bookshelf really caught my eye. I love its unique design, and that it can be hung on the wall in either a vertical or horizontal direction. This was not intended to hold much weight (don't use it for books), as it is more about how it looks in and of itself, so plan on using it to showcase a few decorative items.

I ordered this shelf after a recent move into a new apartment. I have two other home decor items from this same brand and love their overall aesthetic being functional but also modern & attractive home decor. I originally decided this would store toilet paper in my bathroom, but it’s since evolved into just a decorative shelf in my bathroom. My boyfriend installed the unit to my wall with the provided hardware. Overall, I think this shelf adds some character and personality to my otherwise unremarkable bathroom. The price is a bit higher than I was expecting as their stuff seems to vary enormously in price ($66 in Black at the time of writing this review). This is the only reason I chose to deduct a star. I was hesitant to do so because of my previous positive experiences with this brand’s products. But it is simply too expensive for a smaller geometric shelving unit made of particle board. Otherwise, I’m super happy with this and would highly recommend!

We have been slowly adding shelving to our master bedroom. This wall shelf was easy to install and looks great. it can hold a variety of items such as books and plants. We love the modern look!

It's really pretty but part of the shelf is kind of bent down so it's not useable for storing decorative objects. I think it's only useful for like a miniature plant or teeny tiny item (which I don't really want to put on a shelf) so I just went ahead and gave it to my 9 year old for her room.

I picked this item because I think it fits the theme of my new home quite nicely. It's cute, simple, elegant, eclectic, and unique! I like that it comes preassembled and you can choose if you want to use it horizontally or vertically. The material seems like nicer quality than a lot of the cheap crappy options out there these days. It is a little high in cost for the size, but again it's not that extremely low quality material you see in most items lately. I noticed many reviewers are already previously familiar with this brand. This is my first experience with Umbra, and I'm now following them to keep a look out for more of their goodies because I like it.

Great quality, comes with hardware needed for wall mounting, but a bit heavy. Worry that I should have screwed it into a stud.

I like Umbra home products and have many items over the years, from invisible book shelves to wall planters, they make some really cool and often quirky designs for the homes, mostly always decorative accessories.This shelving unit, which I ordered in black came well packaged in an Umbra branded box. It came with hanging tools and screws and directions. It was very simple to piece together and took 10 mins in total. Hanging it on the wall the only remotely challenging aspect.I really like the retro modern design of this and it looks slick. I have it on a bare wall in my bathroom and have placed some skin care products, books and succulents on it and I think it looks great. I have kept it light as I would be concerned about it holding much weight. You can have it positioned horizontally or vertically depending on your wall space. I prefer it horizontally as you can get more on it.
