Baby's Very First Touchy-feely: Animals: 1 (Baby's Very First Books)

I bought this book for my 5 month old because of its simplicity and ability for her to touch the different textures.It is nice and bright and so it captures her attention easily. She loves to have a feel of the textures.The pages are very thick as you would expect of a boardbook and will hopefully withstand a lot of throwing around/chewing etc!As usual with Usborne, I have not been let down and I would definitely recommend this book for young babies.(The copy in my photos is only slightly damaged as it was bought second hand from another seller at a reduced price and so the condition was expected)

Lovely cute book for little hands to feel different textures and always good to start off with easy books with little words to read to little ones before full on story books,lovely animal pictures bright and colourful for baby

The book comprises of several cardboard pages. Each page has a picture of an animal with a part of their body made from a different material with a different texture, such as shiny plastic or fluffy cloth. Our baby is nine months and really enjoys exploring those textures so in that way it definitely is a success.If I was going to say something negative, there are two things: the books is quite small and so are the touchy-feely parts. It's roughly a square with six inch sides and some of the cloth parts are maybe an inch in diameter. The variation in kinds of 'touchy-feelines' isn't that big, roughly half of the pages are fluffy fabric with slightly different length of 'hair'.

I bought this one as my baby loves the other with bee on the cover from this series. My baby is looking for touchy feely areas in all books now

Got this book, when the little one was 3 months old, now he is 8 months old and it is one of his favorite (we have quite a few of different types). As for me at the beginning I thought- it is pretty small size book- the area for touching is even smaller, thinking that it would be hard for the baby to reach the spot- Dog, cat and duck have the same texture to touch, which is 3 out of 9 animalsBut what I liked straight away is that it has contrast background black or white.At about 6 months when we were looking through this book he started to touch animals, so it doesn't really matter that the piece of texture is small. Now he likes to turn the pages, he even tries to do it himself by lying on the tummy, so even better that the book is small, easier to hand for a child on his ownOverall book is nice and cute, but I took away 2 stars, as the pieces of materials shade from the day one o.O
