Impressive Smartwatch with Great Features
I haven’t worn a watch since high school, and even then, it wasn’t a traditional one. I decided to give this smartwatch a try because of its smart features and connectivity, and I’m glad I did. It’s convenient to check the time or notifications on my wrist without pulling out my phone. I’m still exploring all the features, but I love being able to see my messages quickly. The wristband is comfortable and not fabric, which I prefer, and the overall look of the watch is sleek. However, the watch face is slightly thicker than many other smartwatches, so I’ve accidentally bumped it on things - something experienced watch wearers might avoid. The screen quality, customizable faces, and wide range of functions are impressive. The fitness features are particularly great, adding real value to my daily routine. Overall, this is a fantastic smartwatch with excellent functionality and design!

Sleek Design + Packed With Features
this watch looks great on the wrist with the greige gold finish—it’s simple but stylish. The AMOLED display is crisp + bright, and the GPS is very accurate, even in areas where my older smartwatch struggled. I’ve used it for cycling + running, and the turn-by-turn navigation is a great addition. It tracks a TON of metrics like heart rate and sleep (including skin temp), which has been useful for adjusting my workouts. The 7-day battery life is solid, even with daily activity tracking. It feels light, so it’s comfortable to wear all day. Syncing with the Polar app was smooth, and the app itself gives good insights. one minor issue: the touchscreen can feel a bit laggy sometimes, but it’s rare enough not to bother me too much. You don't need to set it up with your phone but it does link up, all of the metrics other than GPS tracking work out the box, and don't need external setup!! Very good watch, I would recommend.

good value for the price
I used it for tracking health metrics. Works fine for that. The color I got was definitely more feminine looking than I expected

The POLAR Vantage M3 is a fantastic choice for athletes and fitness enthusiasts. Its AMOLED display provides clear and vibrant visuals, while the dual-frequency GPS ensures accurate tracking of your activities. The turn-by-turn navigation feature is perfect for exploring new routes, and the impressive battery life of up to 7 days means less frequent charging. The greige gold color adds a touch of elegance, making it both functional and stylish. Highly recommended for its advanced features and sleek design!

What a great smart watch
I just received this yesterday and it is my first smart watch. It was very easy to set up once I downloaded the app to my android. It initial set up took about 10 minutes and you want to be around wifi when you do it. I found all the screens easy to answer and I got this watch for tracking my sets, workouts and sleeping. It is unisex, so male or females can wear this. I got the Greige gold color, which is basically beige and gold. The band is super soft and flexible and it is adjustable with many holes and 2 strap hold down bands. It also has maps capacity, so you always know where you are going. I like the dial and all the details it shows. It has a 7 day charge hold and I can't wait to start to see my sleep details as well as how much I move in a day. This is a very nice smart watch. Would make a great Christmas or birthday present.

Targeted at high-performance athletes, extensive product support on their website
Over the past nine months I have reviewed fifty eight smart watches, most of them in the $30 to $100 range. This POLARVantage M3 smart watch is priced in an entirely different range. I was very interested to see how the increase in cost for a smart watch would impact the functionality and overall quality.I will emphatically say at the beginning of this review that the POLAR Vantage M3 is more than a smart watch, it is equivalent of having a physiometry staff attached to your wrist! (I had to check the definition of the word physiometry – it means “the measurement of bodily functions especially as a feature of anthropometric studies”).Most smart watches can measure and track heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep cycles. Some can also measure blood pressure (estimated), stress, and moods. The tracking info is presented in bar graphs in the phone app and sometimes in the watch. So what makes the POLAR Vantage M3 so much better at “measuring bodily functions” to set it in a different price class? In summary, the accuracy of the measurements and the presentation of the data is at a level not seen in the sub-$150 smart watches. After wearing the watch for a week, giving it time to collect the data it needs to establish baselines of performance, the graphs and advisories within the phone app are equal to having a coach who daily reviews your body’s performance across a range of functions and compares the data to your average baselines.I was amazed at the amount of data presented in the application! For someone who might be training for high-performance sports (not me!), the information could be very useful for the purpose of adjusting workout schedules and workout intensity. Did you get a good night’s sleep last night? Great! Push your workout intensity. Did you not sleep well and not recharge like normal last night? Then take it easy during today’s workout. One thing I noticed when I visited the company website (hey, some of the smart watch companies don’t even have a way to contact them for support, and have cursory user guides on small, hard to read pamphlets) is that it includes the most comprehensive and extensive details about the operation of the Vantage M3. The POLAR company’s 1,200 employees in Finland have created a number of (MANY) proprietary software tracking features that all have names and descriptions on the web site. Very impressive! Check out the POLAR website for a comprehensive presentation of the features and functions of this fitness tracker!About the watch itself – The bezel around the screen has a dimpled surface on the rim that reflects the light to create a very “glittery” brilliance to the watch screen. The dial displays a very bright screen with some unique customization features. This watch doesn’t offer 200 dial faces like some of the lower-priced smart watches. Instead, the watch offers a handful of dial backgrounds from which to choose, with four circular dial areas on top of the background that can be configured individually to display specific data: heart rate, weather temp, battery percentage, etc. This feature provides the way to present the data on the dial that is important to you.Accuracy of step counting – This is an area of fitness tracking that has wide variation over the watches I have reviewed. One point I have surmised after wearing two watches simultaneously, one on each wrist, comparing tracking information for weeks – the trackers count the steps differently! I heard from one company after inquiring, that their step count doesn’t begin recording steps until ten steps are taken, then the watch won’t count any steps until the count reaches thirty consecutive steps. I wore a watch on my right wrist while brushing my teeth and it showed over a hundred steps when I was done, though I hadn’t moved from the sink!I did do a comparison of four watches (two on each wrist) and walked .6 mile and counted each step. At the end I compared the watches and, to my surprise, they were all very close to my actual step count! So it appears that the step counting function is generally accurate for a lengthy walk. The Vantage M3 uses a GPS tracker in the watch and displays a visual map of your walk or run IN THE WATCH, plus in the phone app. This is an unusual feature! As far as tracking daily steps, I have resorted to looking at a daily comparison based upon the individual watch’s count. A watch may not deliver a completely accurate step count for daily activities, but on a day to day basis, it can show comparative amounts of movement. The Vantage M3 presents the sleep data in more discrete increments than any other program I have come across (over 18 different phone apps). The phone app presents a screen with a bar graph that is very detailed. (see one of the screen shots I included)An area of note: The Vantage M3 does not support receiving phone calls to the watch like most of the under-$150 watches I reviewed. This indicates to me that the company is targeting a specific target market segment who are more interested in the bio-tracking functionality of the watch.Areas of the watch that I wish were different – First, the watch body is a smidge thicker than any of the other watches I have reviewed. It’s not so thick that it looks or feels odd, but it is a thick watch that I wish was thinner. Second, the alarm function on the watch lacks a noticeable audible alarm. The alarm vibrates and there is a very, very faint sound, but not loud enough to wake from sleep or loud enough to hear during a workout or regular activity. I use the alarm function often when available. Lastly, the sleep tracking was not as accurate as a couple of other watches I have reviewed that matched to-bed and rising times within a couple minutes, plus nighttime interruptions very closely. The Vantage M3 was generally close over the week that I wore it, but it showed some inaccuracies – this morning, the sleep tracking showed that I had slept past 8 a.m. when I was already up and around by 7 a.m. And the recording of sleep phases (Deep, REM, Light, etc.) was not as close to the times recorded by the other watches that I have tested. It could be the Vantage M3 is actually more accurate at noticing the sleep phases, I’m not awake to monitor that!Overall Impression – this is a premium fitness tracker at a premium price that is designed and created to appeal to a specific market segment – that being high-performance athletes who are interested in measuring and monitoring their physical bodies throughout the day, whether during workouts, recovery after workouts, the amount of recharge from sleep, and their condition to meter the intensity of their next workout. The POLAR company has demonstrated their commitment to this class of customer-athlete by the breadth of their fitness tracker line of products and the detailed support they provide.
