These things are awesome. Bought for my boy, but no problem being used by an adult, decent drag, casts good. Way better than any crappy disney kiddie pole.

I had one of these rods whenever I was around the age of ten, and I absolutely loved it. Over time being a dumb kid I tried to see how far I could bend it and ended up breaking it and kept the reel and threw the reel onto a bamboo pole I had, and used it for 10+ years for bluegill. I moved to a ocean side place and decided to get this product again as a baitfish setup while my main pole was being used. I use it at least once a week, I intend on using the rod even after the reel stops working. This is a very good value for your money and every time I go fishing everyone always asks where I got my little rod from. I am beyond happy with my purchase, and in the picture I provided, is a bluefin trevally that I caught using this rod/reel setup and it was also in the 6 lb test that it comes prespooled with. I was just going for a little baitfish on a piece of shrimp and he took it and ran and the rod and reel handled it very very good, it is also super fun to catch triggerfish and other reef fish with. By this point I have caught more fish and had more fun with this little setup than I have with my main setup. Definitely would purchase again. Added benefit of this product is that it can fit in a large suitcase and you can go fishing anywhere you may travel.Edit: Caught a bigger bluefin trevally on it and picture is provided in the last picture. I have since changed out the 6lb test to 15lb test. Original review still stands, just an awesome little setup, and super fun to catch some bigger fish on. Going to swap out the reel with a penn 4000 series reel once I upgrade my main setup.

bought for my 7 year old son and he has been having a blast with it. I also bought a set of casting practice weights so he can practice in the back yard which has been great. I also have to say, for a fishing pole this thing has put up with 100% of the abuse a child can give it which surprised me a bit. If you want to get a kid into fishing this is a perfect starter.

This is worth it my nephew is 10 years old and he has already caught five fish with this one it did not break so if you're looking for a good fishing rod here we go

This is a great little rod and reel! The drag on mine is way too tight even on the lowest setting though. If I put anything less than 8lb monofilament on it the drag will break the line on the lowest setting. Also, the drag makes a very loud and annoying clicking sound when line is pulled out. Could be that I got a malfunctioning unit, but it seems more like a design flaw. If you do not need a functioning drag this is a great pole. It is well made. The rod is sturdy. And it casts very nicely (even with 8lb line…).

I haven’t been fishing for in 15+ years. But recently my girlfriend and I rented a tiny house on a lake and I decided it would be fun to give it try. Enter the dock demon. For less than $10 (on sale) you get a killer little rod and reel that gives you hours of fun. I caught absolutely nothing the entire time we were there but thats probably because I’ve always been a terrible fisherman. Going to keep this in my car for random ponds and streams in the area. Definitely worth getting one to keep in the car, or if you’re looking to casually get back into fishing.Be advised you will need to acquire bait, bobbers, hooks, and weights. But the back of the cardboard that the pole comes attached to has some instructions on how to tie a knot to the hook and placement for everything else.

This is not only good for the dock but on a boat, by the shore hitting at some growth and around the reeds. Swapped out the reel for a quantum baitcaster and its been reel fun! haha! It's a good pole, its some kind of urethane and it's perfect for panfish.
