A versatile food additive at a good price
Calcium lactate is widely used as a thickener and stabiliser in cooking. It is also a key ingredient for making those little caviar spheres at home, when combined with sodium alginate. In this product, the calcium lactate is supplied as a powder in a resealable jar. The powder has a slightly gritty texture, but is lump free, making it easy to dissolve or incorporate into food. This version is produced from a dairy free source making it ideal for people who want an animal free source of calcium that is readily absorbed. It isn't cheap, but the quality is there.

Supplement with practical application
This is labelled as pure calcium lactate with no additives, and that's a real plus.Calcium is recommended during pregnancy so I got this for my daughter's benefit, but it also thickens sauces, so can have culinary purposes as well as nutrition.Price seems fine in comparison with other forms of calcium supplements.

Calcium Lactate - DecorRom Review.
As someone who’s conscious about both nutrition and quality in my kitchen and supplements, I was really excited to try this Calcium Lactate Powder 170g from DecorRom. This food-grade powder has quickly become a versatile addition to both my health regimen and my cooking. Here's my review / feedback for anyone considering this product:High Quality and PurityThe first thing I noticed about this product is the purity and quality. It’s labelled as 100% pure food-grade calcium lactate, with no artificial additives or preservatives. It's also non-GMO, which is a major plus for me. Knowing that it's a clean, natural product reassures me that I’m not compromising my health while using it in both food and supplement form.Supports Bone HealthAs expected, the primary reason I bought this was for bone health. Calcium is essential for maintaining strong bones, and this product delivers in that department. The powder easily dissolves in water or smoothies, and I’ve been using it regularly to boost my calcium intake. I feel more confident knowing I’m supporting my bone health with a product that I trust. Plus, I like that it's a gentle way to supplement calcium compared to tablets or capsules.Versatility in Cooking and BakingWhat really sets this product apart is how versatile it is in the kitchen. I’ve used it in various baking projects, from making bread to pastries, and it works beautifully. It helps stabilize dough, improve texture, and neutralize acidity in recipes, which is an unexpected bonus. I also tried it in making ice cream and jellies, and it helped maintain a smooth consistency and prevent crystallization—exactly what I needed for creamy, homemade desserts. It’s like a little magic ingredient in my kitchen!Food Stabilizer and Bulking AgentThe calcium lactate acts as a great stabilizer for foods, especially in things like jellies and dairy products. I’ve used it in homemade yogurt and even some dairy-free cheese recipes with fantastic results. It helps create a smooth texture and enhances the overall consistency of these products. It also works well as a bulking agent in certain recipes where you need extra volume or texture, but without changing the taste or affecting flavour.Size and ValueThe 170g size is ideal for frequent use without being overwhelming. It’s enough to last quite a while, and the powder is so finely ground that a little goes a long way. The price point is also very reasonable considering the quality and versatility of the product. I’ve been using it for several weeks now, and I’m confident this jar will last a long time.ConclusionWhether you’re using this Calcium Lactate Powder as a supplement to support your bone health or as a versatile food stabilizer and ingredient in your cooking, it does its job flawlessly. It’s pure, effective, and multi-purpose, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to add more calcium to their diet or enhance their cooking and baking.

Good calcium lactate powder, but pricey. 🙃
This is a 170g container of calcium lactate powder. It seems to be good quality and is easy to mix and use.It is gluten-free and can be used as a thickener and stabiliser. It comes in a good resealable container.I am happy with it, but I think at £6.63 it is too pricey for only 170g. 🙃

Good for thickening
This works well when you're trying to thicken a sauce, I use it when I'm making bechamel sauce and it helps get that thick consistency without having to add more ingredients and ruins the ratios of the amount.

A little goes a long way
I have never used Calcium Lactate before, but I added a small (very small) amount to my gluten free toffee batter to help the mixture gel together and it seems to have had a positive effect. The toffees taste great and I have not had any adverse reactions so far.I look forward to trying the powder out in puddings, especially as Christmas is approaching.I'd recommend this as a useful item to keep in the cupboard if you are an avid baker or love to make preserves.
