Kershaw hit a Homerun with this one!
I was surprised at how great this knife is. I put it up against several high-end Spydercos and Benchmades and it not only held it's own, it was superior in several ways. The action is silky smooth, the best of any knife I tried. Pull the button lock and the blade swings freely. It has a great fidget factor with a snappy action, both opening and closing. The blade swings open with minimal upward pressure on the thumb stud. The Magnacut blade is razor sharp right out of the box and is perfectly centered when closed. The carbon fiber scales are not only attractive but smooth and well-milled with no hard edges and its about a 1/16" thinner than a comparatively sized Spyderco Para 3. This is a perfect EDC or Gentleman knife. Although the Magnacut steel is well know for it's corrosion resistance, this is not the best knife (with carbon fiber scales) for heavy outdoor use, camping or backpacking, basically anywhere you would be using it in wet conditions, the handle is too slick. Other than a choil for your index finger and some moderate jimping on the underside of the knife it is basically smooth. It's great for riding in your pocket but not so great for heavy use in wet weather. The handle, at about 4", may be a little short for people with larger hands to get all 4 fingers on. The blade is also relatively thin for any heavy-duty work, but for basic jobs, breaking down boxes or cutting zip ties, it should excel. Kershaw really impressed me with this knife. If you're looking for a thin, light, classy EDC knife, the Bel Air will serve you well.

One and Done EDC Knife
Beautiful knife! It is my second Bel Air and I cannot say enough good stuff about them. I have a drawer full of knives in the $100-$300 price range and I reach for my Bel Air's every time. The fit and finish is awesome. The action is very smooth and fidgety. These knives have a nice medium weight where they don't feel too light and cheap like a Benchmade Bugout and Hogue Deka. Don't get it twisted, those are good knives too, but they just feel cheap because of how light they are. Another great knife, but heavier, is the Kizer Drop Bear. It's heavier than this with a lesser quality blade. Now the blade, it's thin and slicey. I've only used these for daily stuff like food, cardboard, packages, shaving people's arm hair to show them how sharp it is, and cutting rags in my garage. It has not flinched at any of these tasks and has not had any corrosion.Overall, out of dozens of fantastic knives, this one with the carbon fiber scales is my favorite EDC knife. You cannot go wrong with it. The only advantage another knife brand may have is a more flexible lifetime warranty, but this is not a huge deal for me because the price is so good. Just buy it, you'll love it.

Something very nice for your pocket
I can't add much to what others have said. It's a beautiful knife. Feels very high quality. The polish on the carbon fiber feels really smooth and silky but still has good grip. The action is so light and smooth it almost feels like assisted opening. As was mentioned by someone else, it is has a classy enough look to be in the gentlemans knife category, yet is also a practical, tough edc. I have not tested the magnacut knife steel yet, but I'm sure it's more than good enough for my needs. It's not cheap, but I choose to have a couple of very nice knives instead of a box full of ok knives, and I am happy with this choice.

Definitely worth it
Edge wasn't great when I got it but it was as good as most factory edges. Sharpened it up to a mirror polish and it is super slice. Blade shape is awesome for pretty much all cuts. Knife is super lightweight and pretty thin. Action is perfect as is the blade centering. It's incredibly similar but actually better in almost every way than my Benchmade CF/S90V Bugout. I was hesitant to spend this much on a Kershaw but I find myself using it more than my Spydercos (except for my K390 Dragonfly 2, love that little knife)

They hit it out of the park with this one.
I have half a dozen premium knives. I am really impressed with this knife. It is smaller than most folders I have. This knife is a beautiful, smooth operating, lightweight gentleman’s EDC. I love this knife. Kershaw has its best work in this outstanding small knife. I would change nothing. And this price is less than other comparable pieces. You can’t go wrong with this purchase. If you are on the fence, just go for it.

smooth. easy knife to use.
I got the one with the carbon fiber handle. It's light in the hand and a carbon fiber scales are smooth. I wear an extra large glove and this fits fine. It opens smooth and easy to close with a lock mechanism. But more than that this thing is like a piece of art. I love the way they did the carbon fiber work and the blade with the banding and the iridescent reflection in the light. It's just awesome.

Flawless with some flaws?
Thin blade stock, premium steel and beautiful carbon fiber scales. A perfect small gentlemen’s folder that’s great for fidgeting. It came perfectly centered, no blade play and zero defects. It flys open and closes easily. This knife is small and slicey thin so I wouldn’t recommend it for harsh tasks. I’d get a more robust knife for that. Kershaw has a lifetime warranty and will repair, sharpen and replace parts for a small fee if needed, even the blade! Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that for the money you pay, the carbon fiber version feels a little unfinished in areas due to sharp edges. Though the materials and fit are top quality, they dropped the ball on smoothing off some areas for comfort. The top edges of the blade back should’ve been chamfered as well as the inner edges of the scales against the liner. If you run your finger across both these areas they’re very sharp. I have the beige and blackwashed blade version too and it’s smooth all around without this issue. Overall the materials and service warranty are the selling point of this knife. It will last you for life, but I would go with the beige, the aluminum scales and finishing process on the blade makes it feel more refined and it’s less money!
