Excellent addition to my desk

Over the years I have always been very impressed with UGREEN products. This is well-designed, sturdy chsrger and works perfectly. I just think it's a bit over-priced, even when 'on offer'.

I wanted to get something that I could setup on my desk and have as a charging hub for all of my devices. This looked great and UGreen make great products.The charger itself is quite a weighty little hub, this is actually quite useful as if it was light, the block would get moved all over the place on the desk but this is able to firm hold its spot. Its also bottom heavy which makes it difficult to tip over making the phone holder slightly more secure from tipping.The unit charges up my camera, my tablet, my XPS 15 and my phone at the same time while looking sleek on the desk. It has got a very similar finish to the laptop so its innkeeping with the total style which I am aiming for. The grey is this space grey style and looks stylish and modern.The charging performance of this has been excellent. My XPS 15 will moan if its not getting enough power and this has had enough to keep it charging without it turning all the battery saving modes on it would normally. This is also easily fast enough for my camera and other bits. The unit has two USB-C and one USB-A. This works as most of my stuff is now USB-C but I do that the odd USB-A device.Overall, I am quite impressed by this compact desk charging station. The build quality is excellent, the magsafe phone charging working faultlessly and the speed at which this can charge my laptop/ other bits is great. I can highly recommend this and UGreen have made another great product! 5/5

At first glance, its compact and sturdy build, combined with the flip-out MagSafe lid, evokes a design reminiscent of a miniature dustbin. Despite this quirky resemblance, it exudes a sleek aesthetic and appears to be constructed with excellent quality.The charger has a reassuringly weighty feel, which adds to its premium impression. Testing it with my iPhone 16 Pro Max, I was eager to explore its MagSafe functionality. The magnetic connection was impressively strong, securely holding my phone without issue. However, I encountered a balance concern when attaching my phone in the vertical position. With the MagSafe lid extended to its maximum angle, the charger became unstable and prone to tipping over. Adjusting the lid to a less extreme position or mounting the phone horizontally resolved the issue, but these workarounds are less than ideal for someone like me, who prefers vertical mounting. This limitation might only affect larger devices like the iPhone Pro Max series and not smaller phones.Another drawback is the lack of a power indicator. There’s no LED light or on/off switch to confirm whether the charger is powered, as it connects directly to the mains socket. This omission feels like a missed opportunity to enhance user convenience.On the positive side, the charger performs its core function well. It reliably charged my devices without any issues, delivering the expected power output.In summary, the Ugreen 65W USB-C MagSafe-compatible charger is a well-built, visually appealing device that performs as intended. However, the vertical balance issue for larger phones and the absence of a power indicator are notable downsides. For those using smaller devices or prioritizing horizontal mounting, this may still be an excellent choice.

I like UGREEN stuff. I've had several hubs and power banks made by the Chinese company and they have all behaved impeccably. When this charger arrived I was instantly taken aback by the weight. This doesn't run from a USB power adaptor, you get a nice, long 6mm diameter 240v mains cable with a 3-pin plug at the end. This adds to the total weight with the charger itself weighing in at a hefty 420 grams (approximately). This plus the soft silicone base keeps it in place on your desk or table.On top is a 15 watt Qi2 certified wireless charger. It seems the Qi2 standard is finally making some headway at lest. The charging platform can be angled from 0 to 65 degrees with very efficient magnets that happily accept a vertical or horizontal placement of your phone. There's no cushioning on the wireless charge surface so I personally wouldn't use it without a case on my phone but the edges are rounded so it's unlikely to cause any damage unless you're careless.Where this scores big is with the additional outputs. While you're phone is charging away drawing 15 watts there is a USB-A and two USB-C ports on the front with an impressive 65 watts of power when used with just a single USB-C port or a maximum combined output using multiple ports. The internals are powered with Gallium Nitride (GaN) semiconductor technology, in fact it uses GaNFast II which is the supposed evolution of regular "old" GaN which already allows chargers to be smaller and run cooler. You don't really need it but it's nice to have it.The look and feel of this charger exudes quality with the matt, gunmetal case and rounded design. The tilting platform has a good resistance to the solid-looking hinge. I suppose the drawback is that thick 6mm power cable that is going to be fairly noticeable trailing across your desk. Grab a couple of adhesive cable clips and you can keep it looking reasonably neat. Not cheap by any standards but with such impressive credentials it offers extreme power output in a neat. modern form factor.
