BIC Chrome Platinum Double Edge (DE) Razorblade - 100 Blades

I have had 2 packs of these blades for over 7 years and I finally tried them. I then immediately purchased a 100 pack. They are very sharp and very smooth. I do not agree with some reviews that say they are feather sharp but they are definitely a sharp blade. I generally get 3 shaves out of a blade with 3 days of beard growth every time as I do not shave everyday or every other day. I also have sensitive skin and somewhat coarse hair. With this blade I can get 4 shaves with some extra touch-ups neededon the fourth. I so wish I would have tried these blades sooner.

I was surprised to read the positive reviews for these blades. I don't think the Bic disposable razors are that great. But I must say, these blades are top tier. Sharp enough for coarse beard, but without any nicks or cuts. Consistency within each package is also excellent. I have not found a dud yet. If you are always experimenting with different double edge blades, like me, I recommend this for the shave den.

I tried out a whole lot of blades over the last year and this is my overall favorite. I have very sensitive skin and a thick coarse beard and these do not irritate my skin. These were not the only blade to achieve that, but they lasted about 30% longer than the next runner up. I did get one dud blade so far, but that was immediately apparent upon starting to use it and I just changed it out. They are cheap enough it was not a big deal at all. I easily get a week of shaves out of one of these blades, and often I can get a full week and a half.These blades are very very smooth for me, and yet they are very very sharp. I highly recommend them.I love these in my feather as-d2 when I am in a bit of a hurry (i enjoy feather when i can take my time a little more), and they are just plain magical in my Edwin Jagger DE89.

I got these because they were rated as among the sharpest available safety razor blades, after the Feather brand and I wanted to branch out and try other blades.They are quite sharp, and cut well, but I'm very sensitive to blade sharpness and can tell the difference between these and Feather. They're not bad, andif you want the sharpest, these are close, and very usable, but they are not as sharp as Feather.One thing I like about them is that they come packaged in cardboard and waxed paper instead of plastic. That means you need your own blade receptacle for used blades, but since everything in the packaging is either recyclable or biodegradable you don't have to feel like you're contributing to the plastics epidemic.

I also purchased a variety pack of blades along with several packs off the store shelves, And out of all of them these blades work the best for me in my adjustable Merkur razor. I have a pretty tough beard and these really give me a close comfortable shave and NO razor burn.By the way I did try out the notorious sharp Japanese made Feather blades, And even though I had my Merker turned down to #4 and eased up on the pressure my face still ended up getting a few nicks, but I must say they give me a nice CLOSE shave. I know a lot of shavers love them but I suggest you only purchase a 5 pack to try out to see if they will work in your razor and your face, Because what works for some will not work for others.This is an update to my above review, Well I have going through quite a few of these Bic blades and what I'm finding is there is no quality control at the plant where these are made, the majority of them have been nice and sharp and have giving me a great shave, while a few and I mean few (5%) gave me results like they have been passed around a cell block and used by 20 prisoners.I have returned to using the few Feather blades that I have left over and I'm starting to have second thoughts about them because I have found that if I back off the pressure and set my razor to 2.5 and use a good hot shave cream I only need to go over an area twice instead of the 3 to 4 times when I use the Bic Blades.

I recently started wet shaving and like most people I got a sample pack and In that sample pack I came across the bic DE razors and wow they are so smooth. I am able to get BBS all around with no irritation. With some researching, bics average better sharpness than feather (also a smooth shave for me ) after a few shaves. The value for the money is incredible especially coming off of cartridge razors. Razor blades are all subjective, it all depends on pre prep , skin type , hair type, razor etc. but that sample pack led me to buy a full 100 pack ,I’m set for the next year or so with these and the rest of the sample packs I have. I guess the only thing left is to keep and eye out for any quality control issues but only time will tell

I should have read some of the other reviews here. I ordered these based on the great shave I had with the sample pack I brought. Sample pack Bic blades were great, no nicks, no shave burn.BUT these are nothing like the same quality as the sample pack. They are soo blunt they wouldn't even cut through my stubble without a lot if effort. Don't know if they are made on a different line to the sample packs but they are not up to the sample quality. Very unhappy with this purchase.

Been double edge shaving for 3 years now and I’ve tried a lot of blades. Some in a mild Muhle like the Feathers most often. Others in the EJ 3one6 - my favorite razor by far. The Feathers are too sharp for the 3one6 even with a light touch and basically not needed for the expense so many other blades work quite well in it. But wow these Bics - why haven’t I heard of them before? Almost as sharp as the Feathers and they last for well over 5 shaves. No blades I’ve used do that well. In short these are amazing and sharp enough to use in a milder razor where previously I could only get Feathers to work. And for the price? A steal.
