IntelliFeed Fish Feeder,Black

During my 2 week absence and I did test drive where I watched it perform a dozen times before I left town + I had my in- laws stop in every other day for the 1st few days just to be sure. Very pleased w/ this but just because I'm kind of paranoid, I recommend getting the plug adapter just to be safe ( which I did ).I filled it w/ a combo of small pellets and flakes. I tested it multiple times over a yogurt container lid to judge how much I wanted dispensed at each feeding. Loved that it is pre-programmed for 2x day feelings which allow me to feed less. I did make sure the flakes were broken up into small pieces. I did have my in-laws feed my pleco separately since its wafers would not fit in the feeder. I' m very pleased w/ this product.

Not sure if I purchased this feeder here or other online provider. Not the point though. I’ve used this feeder for three years now. I keep a 100gl marine aquarium with about 23 inches of fish and lots of soft corals. It can be fully self-sustaining for up to 35 days. We travel a lot. I have tried several feeders all but this one got clogged up, I believe because they over hang the the tank and as a result the food absorbs too much water. This unit extends and retracts with each feeding. Therefore the food remains mostly dry. Our fish are happy and healthy when we return home. We.ve taken 15-20 trips since having this feeder. Trust me it works very well or I wouldn’t make the effort to write a lengthy review. Now then, I am very careful setting this feeder up. I test multiple times the volume being dispensed each rotation. I recommend using multiple daily feedings rather than two rotations if one daily rotation is not sufficient (it is for my tank). I’ve begun using one third granulated foods (slow and fast sinking) and two thirds flakes that I normally feed. I recommend that any new user set up the feeder and watch it for a week to see what will work for your tank.

I really like this feeder. I've tried others that have hundreds of reviews but this one works 10x better. I'm surprised more people haven't tried it. I'd rather pay more for something that works than buy cheap over and over again.Set up was simple. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that the food shifts as the device turns so it doesn't despense the same exact amount of food each feeding. Perhaps I don't have enough food in the canister. I'll have to look into that.Overall, this is a great product. It works as expected.

This is the best feeder I have found! I have tried 3 others and none of them worked as well as this one. With the food staying dry it puts out almost the same amount everytime! Simple to program easy to give an extra feeding. Looks like it is well made and should last! If you are looking for an everyday feeder this is it!

I read reviews online prior to purchasing the device, so I made the purchase assuming I was getting an effective solution for feeding my fish while I was away. I don't normally write reviews, but I felt obligated to write this one, based on my experience - this device does NOT work. I tested the device after having been away for 4 days. The first time it does its automatic rotation will be fine, as long as you shake the fish food manually in the direction of the food release chamber, so it fills up with food. Once it goes around once, the way the chamber is designed, it does not sufficiently fill up with food. Once I returned from my trip, I tested the device for 3 days onto a paper plate, emptying the plate each time so it would be clear how much food was actually being released. The amount was scant, at best, for all feedings after the first one. (If a person is away for multiple days, there's no one to "shake" the container, so the food doesn't flow into the refill chamber.) I wouldn't recommend this feeder at all.

Food portions can very to much, other than that seemed to work fine.

It workED well. It keeps the food dry. My previous spinning feeder clogged because the food got damp. This product comes out, spins and then retracts back in to keep the food dry. Used it for when I went on a two week vacation and all went well. Upon return I decided to use it for a regular feeder. It only lasted about 3 months before it seized up. I think there are too many moving parts for it to work continually for a long period of time. Even though it didn't last long, I'm buying another one. I don't want a problem when I'm on vacation and I know it worked well. This time I will not use it as a regular full time feeder and use it only when I go on vacations.

I have had this feeder for over a year with no issues at all. I am gone 2 weeks out of every month and this feeder handles my 15 fresh water fish with no problems. I feed them twice a day and there is still food left when I get home. Granted they are not really large fish ( average size 3 inches) but it still seems it could handle even more. I actually got online tonight to order another one for my new saltwater tank. I would suggest getting the ac adapter as well. I have it and it saves the batteries for power outages which I have had a few times this last year. I highly recommend this feeder ( and it's kind of fun to watch it extend and rotate).
