Weak in flavor, weak in color, weak in smell.
Generally, when I add 1/3 of a jar of paprika to a stew of mine (in this case, it was a Szekely Gulyas), I tend to expect it to add a vibrant orange-red coloration, a rich paprika aroma and flavor that brightens the dish. I don't expect... nothing. Perhaps I'd bought the stuff too long ago (2 months), but I can definitely say that I'm not used to paprika ever going so... flat as this was. Not even after two months in the pantry. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, after opening the jar and finding it smell more like a particularly weak, dried dill weed than paprika, but I was anyway.
