Finicky about scanning. If you're on a budget and speed isn't as important; this works okay.
I already have a barcode scanner, but hoped this new one would scan my 1D barcodes faster; especially with its alleged ability to decipher blurry or "fuzzy" and "incomplete" barcodes. This wasn't the case for me at all. It's much more finicky than my 10yr old USB wired 1D laser scanner. This barcode reader functions by taking a picture of the barcode with an optical sensor (like a digital camera) and then it figures out what the data was that it captured. All of this is done by the 'brain' in the scanner without you doing anything extra. I found that with a steady hand, it'll eventually get them. Something to note; I'm scanning barcodes that were printed on a thermal label 1-10 yrs ago. They fade, smudge a little, etc. This scanner will scan reasonably fast if scanning labels on products with professional packaging with very clear and crisp labels; like those you would find on items in Bed Bath Beyond or Home Depot. I am using 'DIY' Dymo printed labels that we create ourselves. All that said:I purchased this for an inventory count in a retail store and warehouse. Unless you have crisp and perfect barcode labels- I suggest spending more for a more reputable brand like Zebra or Honeywell (both brands appear available on Amazon). I'm going to give the Zebra Symbol DS2278-SR Wireless 2D/1D Bluetooth Barcode Scanner/Imager, Includes Cradle and USB Cord a try next. I'll leave a review of that product there. Today, it's about $150 MORE than this one (I paid $219 total). If you're on a strict budget and speed isn't as important; this Elekele budget scanner will work for you.

It does what I need it to
I bought the Bluetooth 1D model. I use it for scanning barcodes into a price checker on my Android 8.1 phone. It works well, the most issues I encountered are Android related which would probably happen with any scanner, and just a matter of configuration. I just scanned the "Enter into pairing mode" barcode on the little card in the box and paired it in the phone like I would a BT headset. (There's a most-used barcode card which is a nice touch by the way, I can put it in my wallet) The phone thinks the scanner is a keyboard, so I have to set the physical keyboard option to still show the virtual keyboard to enable typing. This is not a problem, it's easy enough to find in the notifications. I also have to set the keyboard to Gboard, Swiftkey wants to autocorrect the numbers sometimes. The charging/USB cable is super thick and while durable, it's also not very flexible. I am not sure I would want to use it in Wired mode for anything other than a stationary setup. For just charging, it is fine.I wish it had an off button or switch. The scan button is easily pressed if you put the scanner in a bag, meaning it's constantly trying to scan wasting battery. It also loses the pairing whenever it shuts off, so I have to pair every time I turn it on.

Works great on 2018 Macbook Pro 15in with touch bar running high sierra. We are using this at a series of revival meetings to track attendance with upc key scanners and its great. Plug and play with the Mac. When I couldn't bring my Macbook pro, my buddy used it on his HP laptop with windows 10 and it again is plug and play.

1st order DOA / 2nd order laster only 2 months
First one I received was missing pieces and did not work so I returned it. I think I received a previous returned item, maybe one of the previous reviewers that had problems, not sure?I ordered a second one and it worked great for about 2 months then stopped working!!It now constantly loses connection with via Bluetooth after connection. It makes rattling sounds and noises and doesn't work anymore.I guess you get what you pay for as this item did not last. I have since ordered a better one and it feels like better quality.

I like
Okay range for my needs but the storage mode may or may not help with that. It just depends on your preference. It refused to work with Windows 7 but worked with Windows 10.

Fails to read barcode correctly
I have yet to get this scanner to read a barcode correctly. I have tried several retail barcodes to test the scanner out and it continues to be very inconsistent on how it reads the barcode. Not once has it read any barcode correctly.

Not Complete
Received the base and the scanner, but not a manual. Scanner works fine when directly plugged into the computer, but without the manual I'm struggling getting it to work over WiFi.

Scan Range isn't as great as I hoped
Scan Range isn't as great as I hoped, maybe 1.5-2 ft scan range; but instructions were good for setup and use.
