Q: How do I replace the handle? I cannot seem to get the head off the old handle.

Don't throw it out like someone suggested! Cut the protective sleeve off. Then hold it the tool up vertically so the handle is on concrete or a flat rock. Lift it up a few inches and then smack the handle down on the hard surface. Keep going and it should come loose. Unless, of course, they haven't epoxied the thing. Another options is to saw the handle right up against the head. Then put it across a couple bricks and then use a heavy hammer and a metal bar to smack the fresh cut end. If that doesn't work, drill the wood out as much as you can and eventually it will get loose enough to remove the head. This should do it even if it is epoxied.
