Q: What is the inside sweat band/head harness made out of? Sometimes they are made of compressed paper and denigrate when they get wet.

The brown band you see across the brim is man made "pleather" and is also used on the inside to create an adjustable band for sizing. The forehead part of the "pleather" is wrapped in a fine grade padded terry cloth for sweat absorption and cushion against the forehead. This is my husband's second helmet, and he finds it very comfortable.

I think that it protects my face and ears plus it's cooler than a hat.

They seem very durable and good quality. I use this hat 5 to 6 Days a week with temperatures reaching 114 degrees and it has held up nicely.
