12 Pack - Schmidt 888 (888B) Ceramic Tip Rollerball Refills - Black Broad Point

I have an old (like 20 years) all metal Rotring Roller Ball pen. Unfortunately the pen is no longer sold and I don't have a model number. But these refills fit the old pen perfectly.I should say if you still use a ballpoint pen do yourself a favor and use these Gel refills. If you don't believe me look at a ballpoint under a microscopeI. They glop out ink sludge inconsistently with whatever grime they pick up on the way. I use a broad point because I sometimes do some minimal sketching with them - not signing the Declaration of Independence which would work with a fine point..

Buy a Schmidt 888 Black Broad Rollerball Refill at 12 for $12 and they write superior to the more costlier brands . The Montblanc and DuPont refills are slightly longer than the 888, so wrap a little scotch tape around the top of the 888 to lengthen it. The DuPont is basically an international refill with a plastic plug on the top. The scotch tape becomes the plug. It only works with older model Montblanc without the screw-in feature. Excellent refill and dries quickly.

I will get these again when needed even though I believe that the price is a little high. The quality of these refills is great.

I use the fine point rollerball refills and give them 5 stars. I rate these 3 stars because the amount of ink used to make the lines was too thick and dried slowly, creating smearing. This MAY have been due to the paper I was using so I can’t go lower, but I did want to share my experience.
