Q: Has the 3amp version been discontinued? I need one of these for powering a raspberry pi. I have purchased them in the past.

The 5V3A version is not discontinued. All our cargo is backlogged at the port (including the 5V3A version). We are working hard to solve this problem. So sorry.

Q: Does the 3a module have terminal blocks? The picture shows terminal blocks for the 3a device, but GlowBot says they were not on his 3a device.

If you check carefully, GlowBot purchased the 5V2A version. The 5V2A version does not have terminal blocks, because the 5V2A version is very small and cannot install blue terminal blocks like the 5V3A version. The 5V3A version is shown in the picture with blue terminal blocks.

Q: What does this do that a ac110v to 5v dc usb wall adapter doesn't do?

Nothing. This is for mounting in a case that has 120V inside and you need 5V DC inside the case to power something.
