Used for a water "finishing" filter on a commercial water distiller.
Washed charcoal to remove fines from the larger mesh grains, then wrapped in a drip coffee filter to "finish" water from a commercial water distiller. Improves taste, and removes volatile organics and chlorination byproducts that may come over condenser head with the distilled water.

Best charcoal for refilling water filters
This is the right granule size to use for refilling activated charcoal water filters. Bought this to refill my Brita pitcher filters. Aquarium sized charcoal is too big, and charcoal powder is way too small. This product works great, easy to refill the cartridges because the charcoal pours freely, and there's a lot less dust than with other brands of activated charcoal. And of course the water tastes spectacular! Also comes in a 1 lb size.

We use this in our Nutriteam Water Distiller
We use this in our Nutriteam Water Distiller in place of the overpriced charcoal packets. I simply cut a cheap coffee filter down to size, wash a tablespoon (or less) of this charcoal in a strainer and place it into the distiller nozzle. Works perfectly for us and the water taste great.

Using it to filter water
We are using this to filter water and it's doing pretty good and the price is certainly right. Will definitely purchase again!

quality product
This is high quality charcoal. Consistent size, not much dust. I bought the wrong size last time. This is the size I needed. I have drilled a hole in the side of my facemask filters(organic vapor filter), poured out the old charcoal, filled with new charcoal and put a piece of tape over the hole. Repeat the process as often as needed. You can save a lot of money this way. Of course there are many other uses for it as well.

It came with to much dust, but it helps clean water.
I wish the dust was removed before they ship it to us. I can't make any use of all the dust. It is messy and time consuming to get flushed out of the granules. That being said, the carbon granules work, I can taste the difference in my tap water.

Does what it's meant to do
Does the job.Bought it to filter our drinking water.Once you wash the dust out it works great. I put it in home made reusable tea bags and boil it once a week, as I did with the charcoal sticks I used to use.

Clean looks like a good product.
Receives 4 stars for the packaging. The bag came split on the side and charcoal was leaking out. So I put the charcoal in zip locks in another container. That said the product itself looks good. Umm how should charcoal look? It was clean and shiny and looks to be the correct grain size for my use.
