Welch Allyn71900 Quality Medical Diagnostic Products 3.5 V Lithium Ion Rechargeable Power Handle

My original dx handle finally died (the silver Ni-Cd battery style) and I was very fortunate to find this handle. It works with all of my other attachments so that saves me having to spend an extra $500 for the attachments. I'm very happy with this purchase!

Many people say that this product is weak. However, I have used the same handle for over 5 years and I LOVE IT!!! It has never broken, the batteries last as long today as it did in the beginning, but I do let it run down before I charge it. I have never had a problem with it breaking. I now have 3 and we have 3 audiologists using them and all three of us love it. It is so much lighter in weight than the Nickel Cadmium battery. I won't ever go back.

Dear potential customer: Several of us have warn you about the fragility, bad quality and early death of this handle's and it's source of power. I bought mine on February 12th., 2013. I use it 6 days a week. It died 3 days ago.Do not complain when the same will happen to you. Because it will. Every body talks about the fair according to own experience, but the one star graders of this particular product have suffered exactly the same defects. In order to keep your mental health, choose something else.

It’s okay but way too expensive.

I have used it for over six months now. Handle is light. The charger is super easy to use and one charge can last a really long time. Way brighter and clearer than the cheaper one I used. Definitely worth the money.

Works just like the one I had that was stolen a few years ago, super glad I was able to replace it with this.

This product did not charge and did not turn on my current Welch Allyn ophthalmoscope and otoscope. For whatever reason this object is counted as dangerous and cannot be returned despite the policy being "flammable liquids or gases". There by I'm stuck with a completely expensive unless battery. Welch Allyn has lost my trust in their products.

I have had several Welch Allyn products before. Battery died within 6 months of having it and I was just informed the battery is not covered. Will not hold a charge at all. I have had several lithium batteries and they have lasted years. So I am a bit disappointed with the product.
