This cat cave is cat's favorite place to hide out, any time of day or night.
We recently acquired a feral cat (mother of a six week old kitten I adopted 18 months ago). After the litter was adopted and kittens weaned, the person who was feeding cat had her spaded and left her feral. That person moved away. This cat was left behind. We are trying to adopt her, slowly trying to domesticate her as an office cat. Right now she lets only a few people come close or pet her, otherwise she hides or will lash out at anybody who tries to corner or pet her. Hoping that we can change her behavior but progress is slow. This cat cave works great in our attempt to domesticate her. .We recently litter box trained her and now she is captive in the office. Her home base is in a kennel in our accounting office. Inside the larger kennel. we put the cat cave in the back of a plastic cat carrier with another cat bed holding it in place in the carrier. This cat cave's outer width & height match the inside width and height of the carrier, so it fits snuggly. This cat cave is her go to place whenever she feels insecure or upset or needs a secure place to hang out and watch people. The placement in the carrier is ideal for taking her to the vet. In fact, I purchased another of this same cat carrier for her to hide out in when she is elsewhere in the office. The cat cave is like a hollow pillow, not rigid. Recommend it as a place for any cat to feel secure, but like a pillow, it is not rigid or load bearing.

Have catnip handy
First of all let me say these cat caves fit cube organizers perfectly. It does collapse in on itself at first, but after giving it time it's doing a better job holding its shape. At first I was worried I would need to return them (I purchased 2, one for each cat) because when I tried putting them in they freaked out half way in. However I put some catnip in the very back and my cat crawled in and settled down all by himself. I think it's a yes from him. Basically let the cubes rise properly and put a bit of catnip in the very back. The cats will sort out everything themselves.Update: it took my older cat about a week to sneak into the cube, but now it's his favorite place. He spends at least 3 hours every day in there grooming or sleeping while I do stuff around the house.

Very small but very cozy
This bed is a bit small, with a pull out cushion. It is better suited to 10 pounds or smaller sized cats. I have a 13 pounder that squeezes himself into it and sleeps. Because he likes it so well, I had to give it 4 stars.

Cat Loves It's New Box - Light Coffee is OK - DON'T BUY Gray Animal Print
Review update December 2021: One star less for the poor quality Gray Animal Print variety.Purchased the "Gray Animal Print" bed and we returned them quickly. They did not hold their shape, very flimsy. Of course the pattern is nice, but it is not worth even this cheap price. We considered making a internal frame to hold them in a cube shape, but returned instead. After the return, we purchased two more Light Coffee variety and found them to be okay. Maybe not as nice as the one we purchased more than a year ago (indoor cat, still in use) but much better than the Gray Animal Print style. They did not appear as nice as the old light coffee cube, but far better than the animal print. After a couple weeks the outside stray cats had a fight (or one was attacked by some other animal) and we had to wash one of the cubes (you may know what cats do when frightened). After a wash and dry (normal washer and dryer) the cubes pop into a nice cube shape with no fold lines and hold their shape. For the price, well worth it. The stray cats that live in our shed like the cubes during cold Wisconsin winter weather. Even had one sleeping on top of the cube and it was not crushed, well not totally, it sprang back into shape.-------------Review left some time back, still valid other than the "least expensive" part:Purchased the least expensive "light coffee" style. Cat took to the box right away. I thought the pillow was not a good fit, very poofy in the center but nothing for the edges of the box. So, I removed the pillow right away and used a fleece blanket instead. Placed a square of non-slip shelf liner under to box so she would not slide off the wood topped counter. We let our house drop to 50 at night (currently -8 outside) and the cat now sleeps much warmer. If your cat jumps on top of the box it will crush, but we are not having that problem. Box was shaped nicely right after unpacking. Only had it for a couple of days so can not comment on long term durability. Would have been nice if the box had padding on all sides, instead the bottom is a thin, breathable mesh material. Oh well, still good for the money."Get in the box kitty!"
