Learning Resources Chick Life Cycle Exploration Set

Children in my Reception class love these!We have them on display next to our incubator of 6 eggs. Every day the children check the pictures on the eggs to see how the embryo is developing. The eggs are numbered and the children like putting them in order.Good quality pictures, well made and sturdy.

Excellent resource, the children in my class used it everyday to check on the development of the eggs in the incubator. Prompted lots of discussion.

Excellent product only slight complaint is that the eggs are a bit fiddly to open

The perfect learning resource when hatching chicks in the classroom

Another excellent quality product from the Learning Resources brand. After reading about the negatives to having live animals in hatching projects - a concept that teaches dissociation and a throwaway attitude to life since the birds often end up dead or dumped onto animal rescues - this was a welcome and valuable resource!The imagery is clear with excellent details - you are essentially experiencing what happens inside - the children enjoy using them and are particularly fascinated by the first few stages. Far more educational than hatching projects since the children are experiencing the actual science of the life cycle itself.Unlike hatching projects, when we’ve finished using them we can put them away with a clear conscience.

These eggs are a great idea but all the chicks are the wrong way up which isn’t ideal to teach my kids how they grow. The chick should be head down to the wide end of the egg where the air sack is but is positioned head up towards the point. Most people wouldn’t know this so I can see why they are so satisfied with the product.

We hatched 13 baby chicks for a homeschooling lesson and since my girls couldn't touch the eggs when we candled them these were perfect for them to feel more hands on in learning process. Quite honestly I was disappointed that my kids were not as excited as I hoped about candling our real eggs but when I bought this educational resource they got so much more excited about the whole learning experience. They couldn't wait to open each egg and see what happens next & then they practiced sequencing after they were all opened. We bought a how do chickens grow book to read along with this and it made it even more exciting for them. The details inside the eggs and the aspect of them being able to actually look inside an egg to see what's happening made this experience come to life for them as I believe when we candled our real eggs they couldn't really tell what they were looking at but they could with these plastic eggs. The illustrations inside these eggs are so detailed that I feel like it really helped my kids make the connections when they looked back at our candled eggs. Great buy for a unit study. Definitely recommend! Great quality and pictures are numbered too which was helpful to put them back in order.

Leuk om mee te spelen, leerzaam. Lastig om het allemaal weer op te bergen, de nummers staan aan de binnenkant.

Habe es für unsere Kigagruppe bestellt, da wir mit den Kindern selbst Küken ausbrüten und die Kinder so die Entwicklung des Kükens im Ei sehen können. Sehr empfehlenswert ist dafür super geeignet und die Kinder sind begeistert.
