It Works!
Terro is, hands down, the best method for getting rid of ants that I have found. I have been using it for years. I love that ants carry it back to the hive, killing the whole hive. In every application I have had to use Terro, one use and the ants never return. If they ever did, I would just put out some more Terro, which would end them. It's safe to use and does its job! It is an excellent product for the low cost, regardless of your chosen version.

Really works!
I have used this so many times over the years. Just plain works. Hint, use a bunch of these if necessary, and replace the bait if it's eaten up by the ants or gets old and fouled with ant bodies. The traps can easily be washed out with warm/hot water, then refilled using the bottle of Terro liquid. I even taped 3 to the ceiling when we had an invasion of small black ants and it was effective. These alone will take care of sugar ants. With the larger ants with bigger invasions, it's best to use these in combination with finding where the ants are getting into the house and spraying their trail with a contact poison.

Terro T300 Liquid Ant Baits (2 Pack)
This product absolutely attracts ants, but be sure to place it where you've seen them in the past to speed up the process. Let the ants invite their friends and soon their will be many, but not for long. It does exactlywhat it says so let the ants have at it. That said, be carful when opening and placing the packets because the liquid inside can/will spill out and it makes a sticky mess.

Took 3 days, but stopped a terrible crazy ant infestation. And safe for the cats!
Normally when I get the occasional ant invasion I can kill it with spray, just get the trail and where they're coming in . This time I had a four pronged invasion of the tiny little black crazy ants (they're called that because they move around fast and kind of drunkenly) that would not stop, and I couldn't find exactly where they were coming in. And those little suckers explore aggressively, they were getting *everywhere*.So I ordered these. I put them down near the four points they were generally running around. On the first day, they kind of ignored them to start with, but eventually some ants found them and by that night they were just swarming the traps. Note that at this point THERE WILL BE MORE ANTS than before you put the traps down because they found a perfect food source - but the ants are all going for the traps and mostly leaving everything else alone. The next day, there were no ants around any trap but one trap, which still had a lot of traffic. That's the area that had the most traffic to start with. And then later... more ants came back o the other traps! So, at least for these ants, THEY COME IN WAVES of about 4-6 hours. And then, I assume, that wave goes back to die, and hopefully poison the queen, and then another wave comes. But eventually they ran out of waves. This is the third day, and all the traps are just sitting there. There are no more ants. I'm going to leave the traps out for a while, but mission accomplished, I think. The instructions do say it can take up to a week. You just need to accept that initially there will be more ants (but they will be focused on the traps), and that the ants will come and go in waves, but they will taper off and eventually no more ants.Other points:* You will need scissors to get the end of the traps off easily, and it makes it easier to get them apart.* The liquid is basically a borax and sugar solution in water. It's not something you want your kids or pets eating, but is pretty safe if they happen to touch or even taste a bit.* The liquid can leak a little from the trap, especially if the surface is a bit tilted, so you might not want to put it right on a carpet - put it on a plate on the carpet. Right on the linoleum or bathroom sink is fine. If it does leak, a wet paper towel with a little liquid soap will clean it right up.Overall, it did exactly what I needed. Next infestation I will go for one of the traps first.
