Shure A83-FUR Windjammer for LensHopper VP83 and VP83F Microphones

Sold by Shure, made by Rycote, couldn't be a better combination. First thing I checked for was loose fur. There wasn't any. NONE. Fits nice and snug, but the elastic band that wraps around the back side of the mic that holds the deadcat on wasn't tight enough around the back side to mean much. Don't know if it is supposed to be tight, but it isn't a big deal because the fit is tight enough to hold the deadcat on the mic without any worry.If it makes any difference, it looks good, too. Not too fuzzy, but definitely sturdy. I bought this after I had the mic a few days, and am glad I did. Didn't go for the off brand substitute. Yes, it's a bit pricey at about ftfy bucks, but it's a good quality piece. I don't expect I'll ever need to buy another one again to replace it.

It really isn't all that bad. It catches and gets rid of most of my wind noise, and my audio stays crisp. It's hard to get it on and off of my mic however, but that's the only downside.

This dead cat or windjammer is amazing. It completely knocks out wind noises up to 65-75 mph at some angles and knocks out wind noises at all angles anywhere between 0 and 35 mph. It is of excellent quality and is a tight fit over the stock microphone cover and clips on with an elastically band that wraps around the mic body itself.

I use this on the VP83F. It does work, I don't recall encoutning wind issues outside with this. I have left this permanently mounted on the microphone.Of course there is a trade off, there is some muffling of higher frequencies. How much is hard to say. This is used mainly for human voice, I find the tradeoff acceptable.

Fits snug but an easy slide on. I would caution to do that OFF the camera hot shoe. I will be leaving this on the mic all the time. Did not notice any loss or muffled audio. Still leaves access to the AA battery compartment and you can still see the power switch on the back of your Shure A-83

Fits the VP83 perfectly and does exactly what it is supposed to do well. Tested it this weekend at a track meet. Wind was probably 15-20MPH and it cut the wind noise to zero. I'd give it 5 stars if it was $25-30

I put it to the test on Mission Bay surrounded on 3 sides by water at a corporate event at the Paradise Point Resort. Worked like a charm. The fit is a bit snug and I didnt want to take it on and off... but even leaving it on inside a conference room, it didnt lower the db too much... and when I checked my audio later, I knew this was the right dead cat to buy. Didnt want to mess around with 3rd party products for this mic.

It’s expensive but it does a good job knocking down the hideaway- Nearly all of my videos are shot on our sailboat

Ich habe die teure Windjammer Version gekauft, weil ich die optimale Lösung suchte.Dieser Windschutz lässt sich sehr schwer aufziehen, sitzt dann aber perfekt, weshalb ich ihn ständig (also auch bei Windstille und Innenaufnahmen) auf dem Mikro belassen werde.Bei den verfügbaren Produktbeschreibungen ist von "Fur" die Rede, was ich als "echtes Fell" verstanden hatte. Dem ist aber nicht so. Dennoch sieht es gut aus und erfüllt seinen Zweck. Ob es dies aber besser tut als die 17EUR Version kann ich nicht beurteilen.

Great cover and fits very tightly, did take a bit of time to fit but once it was on it works brilliantly to cut out wind noise. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone who wants to remove it too often as it’s a tight fit, however it might be loosen up with use but I’ve left mine on and it doesn’t compromise the audio - or at least it’s not noticeable.

Para lo que vale tampoco para mucho el viendo pero bueno algo se nota además protege algo. Recomendado para gente que graba en la calle o con eco.
