Q: Can you recommend a stand or base for 85” TV ?

This one works with my 85" Sony (101 lbs). I was nervous about it but it's very solid.

Q: Whats the maximium height from the bottom of tv to stand?

depends on where you mount the brackets and the size of tv. could be under 1" or up to at least 12" i would guess.

I have this stand on my 120# 80'' tv.. Handles it just fine, but I don't constantly move it around. Set and forget seems to work fine for over 2 years now.

Q: How high could this raise the bottom of a 75 inch tv off the base? I am trying to find a stand that will give me at least 10 inches of clearance!

That depends on the location of the bolt holes on the back of the TV. The vertical bars on each side of the stand are bolted to the TV. There are numerous holes in those vertical bars. To maximize the height of the TV above the base, one would align the upper bolt holes in the back of the TV with the uppermost hole in the vertical bars. I other words, mount the TV has high as possible on each vertical bar. The stand can be configured so that the uppermost bolt hole in each vertical bar is 40 inches above the base. So, to calculate clearance between the bottom of the TV and the base: (1) Measure the distance from the bottom of the TV to its upper mounting-bolt hole and (2) subtract that distance from 40 inches. The answer is the clearance.
