King Charles Modern Farmhouse Floral Matelasse Coverlet, 100% Cotton Breathable Bedding, King/CalKing, White

This is a really beautiful high quality coverlet. I ordered it for my guest bedroom and have received compliments from all my guests on how pretty it is. It seems to be well made, a nice weight that offers warmth. I ordered the white, and blends nicely with other patterns for a layered bedding look. It looks much more expensive than it was. My guests tell me it’s nice to sleep under.

I have had these bedspreads before and they last forever. They wash well and don’t appear to shrink. They are high quality and classic. I have previously paid hundreds of dollars for these and the only reason I am buying more is because of a room color change.

Beautiful bed spread. Quality is great. Washed and dried it with absolutely no shrinkage. Actually I would not have minded if it had shrunk a little bit. Not disappointed in the quality. Color is exactly what I was expecting.

UPDATE: I still love this spread HOWEVER it does shrink a lot when washing. I purchase the oversized queen for my full bed and the fit was perfect with the bedspread just touching the floor. Now after washing it has shrunk so much it is 2" off the floor on both sides and foot (if I want enough to cover pillows with spread). So I would recommend that you have it DRY CLEANED ONLY.This is a very nice quality matelasse bedspread. It is the same weight as my current coverlets which add some warmth without a lot of weight. When it is coolish I will only use the bedspread with a top sheet. When winter comes in Minnesota I will use the matelasse coverlet under the bedspread (in between the top sheet and the bedspread). Now I will say that I do tend to be very warm a lot of the time - so some folks who get cold easier might need a warmer blanket under the bedspread.The 'inside' of the bedspread is fairly smooth but IMO would be more comfortable with a top sheet.And the size is perfect - I purchased the oversized Queen for my full bed as I no longer want to deal with the inconvenience of a bed skirt and keeping it clean. The drop from the top of my mattress to the floor is 25.5" and this spread touches the floor on 3 side and plenty of length to cover 4 pillows easily.I am extremely happy with this purchase and have recommended to some friends already who were looking for something like this. I have not washed it as yet but if something is not good after that I will come back and update my review with details.

Quality of quilt is excellent.

Edit to my edit: I contacted Amazon about the spread shrinking & they were awesome! They sent me a new spread along with a shipping label to ship the original spread back, free of charge. I received the new spread before they received the one I returned. I couldn’t have asked for more. At least now I know to line dry it the next time it needs to be washed. I’m thrilled with this spread & more thrilled with Amazon’s customer service.Edit: When I wrote this review I had just gotten it & hadn’t washed it yet. I had to wash it this morning because my grandson got chocolate on it & did exactly as the instructions stated. It shrunk so much that I’m not sure it would fit a queen bed now. I’m not sure what to do because I spent so much money on the shams, regular & euro, as well as decorative pillows that I hate to buy a new spread & start over. Or do I buy this again & when I wash it hang it to dry. This spread is kind of colonial looking, not the look I was going for. But, I positively love it & don’t want to return. I’ll find a way to decorate my room so it doesn’t look quite so colonial. It’s just so pretty especially with the shams & decorative pillow. None of those things come with it. I purchased them all separately. It’s well made & very heavy. I take my spread off every night because of 2 little dogs who think the bed is theirs & they just let us sleep with them. But, if you can leave your spread on, it will definitely keep you warm. You may only need 1 additional blanket in the winter. The only thing I’m not too crazy about is even though it’s a king it’s not long enough on the sides. I could use a bed skirt, but honestly I hate them. I’ll live with being able to see under the bed. I added a picture so you can see for yourself. I just bought it & haven’t washed it yet. If I have an issue, I’ll edit my review. I gave it one star for light weight because it’s most definitely not light.

The coverlet is absolutely gorgeous and feels high-quality. I love the pattern and the fit.
