Shower head works very well.
The new shower head was a duplicate of the original. Suspect the finish on the original was damaged in one spot where corrosion started after about 8 years. The original created a very even and pleasant shower experience. The replacement is working just as nice as the original.

The Best
Okay, I realize I just got this today along with the :Grohe 27 217 000 Rainshower 6-Inch Ceiling Shower Arm, StarLight Chrome, and I just put it in. Like my other Grohe kitchen and bathroom fixture I look at this and it's a solid piece of German engineering. A few years ago I made a promise to myself to pay the little bit of extra cost and get the best plumbing fixtures that I could get of course at a reasonable price. Thanks to Amazon and Grohe I been able to outfit my bathroom and kitchen with all Grohe products. This shower head for the price is incredible, Again I know I just had for a day but if something happens to it I will be sure to update this review. The water falls gently and beautifully... I can't wait to use it tonight. For some reason I thought the shower head would spray out past the diameter of the shower head itself and I was concerned that it might hit a window in my shower, but this is not the case, if anybody's wondering about that. Maybe thats how all rain-type shower heads work; the water just comes right straight down from the shower head no matter how full you have the water on. That was a pleasant surprise. So if you thinking about buying any new bathroom or kitchen fixtures, spend the extra money, (especially here in Amazon you can get Grohe products for a great price). Grohe products are solid German engineering and your friends will be impressed for just a bit more than the junk at Home Depot.Thank you Amazon and thank you Grohe.Oh, one more thing… In the past I've had to replace a few parts from other Grohe fixtures and Grohe customer service is superb. They've never questioned me and always sent out replacement parts for free with no hassle. That is one of the big reasons why I will always buy Grohe products.

Great product but one caveat
Love the product and love Grohe products. Always very good quality. However, very poor pressure straight out of the box.I have great water pressure and the old Grohe shower head felt great. This was so anemic in pressure even my wife (who loves soft water pressure) had to use the hand shower head to rinse her hair completely. With all due respect to the Grohe rep, David G., that answered previous questions, he should check which model shower head he is discussing. The flow restrictor is firmly nestled in the "back of the head" as described but it has a ridge designed to allow installation but not removal (easily). If you try to remove it with needlenose pliers, I promise you will be picking plastic pieces out of the shower head. Using a jeweler's slotted screwdriver, I was able to get under the ~0.75 cm rubber O-ring nestled within the restrictor and tease it out.Now instead of feeling like I am showering in a light spring drizzle, I am in a summer thunderstorm and loving every minute of it. But for that one issue (albeit a minor one), GREAT product. Excellent distribution of water across the entire head, none of the nipples goes dry when I angle it to direct 20-30 degrees off the vertical. Although, I am not sure anyone will need to angle it as i is a rainfall shower head and should point straight down.I did not like the Grohe extension shower arm (straight) so I bought the Purelux 17" Gooseneck shower arm.[https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074TFVGFJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1]I like the look better than the straight one Grohe had. I would have preferred to stick with Grohe if they made one that I could find.

Perfection In A Shower Head
Incredibly nice to shower with this thing. I was wary about it being made out of plastic but the build quality is top-notch (it's made in the same factory in Germany where they produce all their high end models). It doesn't feel flimsy at all (quite robust actually) and the finish stays impeccable even after hundreds of showers. If your shower tube doesn't come in from the ceiling make sure to buy an 'S' shape shower arm (like the one made by Danze) so that you get the spray from above you (this shower head wouldn't work well from the side).

This is the one!
I have ordered many, many products from Amazon. I can't recall writing many (if any) reviews. This shower head, however, has prompted me to do so. Prior to receiving this item, I tried a few options from the local big box stores. All were known brand name faucet/shower head manufacturers, and all were plastic, cheap, and usually leaked. Perhaps I wasn't investing as much as I should have, but there weren't any "high end" choices on display. Luckily, in exasperation, I tried this one. It is the one folks! Look no further. Wonderful, soft, rain shower. No leaks. Modern look. Extremely Pleased.

Very good
Stays clean or little calcium deposit.

Disappointed in the quality of the feel.
For the price of this and the presumed quality of the Grohe brand, it was disappointing to feel the lightweight "plastic" feel of this. It works as it should but it doesn't provide the confidence it will lasts long and when you look up close you can tell the difference between something solid brass with chrome finish and what is clearly mostly plastic with chrome finish. If you are going for a high end look, I recommend another brand.
