May be the older version, but still a great system!
I know that the New 3DS is out now, but I have to put some more love on this device, especially this version. I got it for my birthday last year, and while I new the New 3DS was coming, I still opted for this version for a few reasons, and I've been happy I did. First of all, this version comes with an included game which is always nice, and being as it's on the device memory it's always there to be played. New Super Mario Bros. 2 is a pretty decent mario game, not the best but it's still a good, fun platformer with lots of interesting levels. Again, a nice game to play that's handy to always have on the device.Secondly, along these lines, this version looks great! I really, really love the look of this system, and if I had to buy another device again today I would seriously consider getting this again instead of the New 3DS because of it. The images are embedded in the cover and so are very durable, and are nice and sharp and look fantastic. I would really miss going back to a flat colored device if I had to buy another, this just looks so sharp. The 3D effect is an issue, and if you're in the market for a device I would stop by a brick and mortar store to try one before you buy. I have some issue with the 3D sometimes, when I'm not looking directly at the screen, and the New 3DS is apparently better at this. So if it bothers you, that's a real consideration. I notice it sometimes but most times it just plain works. So, you milage may vary, but for me, improved 3D vs the images on the cover, I think I'd prefer the images since the 3D is already works pretty well for me.Again, I realize most people will want the latest and greatest, but this is seriously still a great looking, awesome device.

Did not expect to like this as much as I have
The 3ds has been a lot better than I expected, the 3D feature is used to make the games look better and is not relied on for game play purposes. Super Mario Bros is pretty easy which is disappointing but is a lot of fun and will definitely remind older players of the older versions like Super Mario World on the Super Nintendo. I had no urge to buy this at first, than I read some reviews and decided it was worth buying, and it without a doubt is, a lot of the games have new features that are pretty cool while still keeping a lot of the things that made the older games great. The XL screen is a really nice size, I have never used a regular 3ds but I would suggest spending the few extra dollars and getting a system with the larger screen. The 3D is nice but if you are hard up for cash, the 2ds is a cheaper option that is worth looking into, but if you have the cash the XL is the way to go.Cons:The Nintendo store is a bit overpriced with the old games, hoping they have sales for those games at some pointNo Yoshi in Super Mario Bros

Worst quality of the screens
I was hoping for a great gaming console after reading all those rave reviews. I do accept the wonderful mario awesome game which is also my favorite, but what about the console itself? In these days of smart phones offering excellent screen quality and other features, this one pales down to the ultra low quality - specially the low quality display screen, forgettable touch screen on bottom and other components. 3D is just a gimmik and is never been helpful. Disappointed with the console.

Always check condition
Product was ok, once I took and replaced the bulging battery.

This is a great bundle (provided you like how the case looks) and ...
This is a great bundle (provided you like how the case looks) and IMO a great deal. I don't buy consoles very often and I consider myself a casual game player; I play on this probably 4-6 hours a week. Maybe more, because it's so easy to pick-up and put down all day exactly where you left off just by closing it.I owned the very first DS when it came out and I had been thinking for a long time about upgrading. 3d as a feature wasn't a big seller for me but I love how it's used in this. The 3d camera feature is pretty fun even though it's novelty wears off quickly, but the 3d games look AWESOME. Esp. the one that comes with it. And they make it so convenient to toggle the level of 3d and even turn it off super easily based on how far you hold it from your face.Nintendo so often gets it just right; they get what is fun and appealing and realize how colorful and fun graphics can even top more advanced and detailed graphics the other systems have. Downloading games is convenient and easy. I thought a couple of game downloads would take up all the storage on the thing without an additional memory card but so far still has plenty of room. The battery last a good long time and it charges very quickly. I love taking this with me for times when I'm waiting during the day and I love playing during free times. This is a great all-around hand console with a nice big screen that I think most people would love. When I first got it I thought it was bulky compared to my original DS but I adjusted quickly and now prefer the bigger screen. My only minor gripe is that the volume slider is right where you hold it on the right and I'm sure will get even looser, so you end up unintentionally increasing the volume while you play.I'm pretty frugal and this was a big purchase for me someone who isn't a heavy gamer. I have bought many games (I check the reviews and so far I've really liked all of them) and I'm so happy with this purchase.
