Beautiful rhymes and illustrations
This is such a gorgeous book! I read an interview with Evangeline Lily and she spoke about writing this book and I knew I had to get it. My 8 year old absolutely loved it even though there were a lot of words in the book that we had to define for her. She loved the detail in the illustrations and was re-reading it all day and then carried it to school with her for a week. It's not a very long book but I think a must have. The lesson is very good... nobody is just good or just bad, there is both in all of us. It's written in rhymes so it's extra fun to read. My daughter really hopes that this will become a series with more coming out soon!

Great book!
This book is for older kids and is a modern day Dr. Seuss. The illustrations are beautifully done and the story rhymes. I am excited to get the other books in the series as they come out.

Fanciful tale with great illustrations...
This whimsical story is clearly the product of a very creative imagination. The incredible illustrations were also a wonderful addition to the story. I thought it showed how truth can sometimes be revealed through an unexpected and fanciful tale. The back cover states that "Children of all ages will delight in the book's deliciously dark mischief." yet, I found the book so delightful, that I decided to keep a copy for myself. I hope that the author and illustrator will create another magical and playful tale.

your book has great potential!
Ms. Lilly, your book has great potential!! Hope you are working on Book 2. Love the illustrations also. Saw you in an interview about the time I was searching for a title for my kid's book. I thought if you could think up a cute title, so could I! I came up with "Quaaackeroodles" and now have two books out: 'A Tale of Feathers and Friendship' and 'A Harvest of Clowns'. Looking forward to all 18 of the "Squickerwonkers".Thanks, Sharon L. Davis

Teaching kids empathy and self awareness one book at a time:
Not to knock fairytales and princesses, but I’d take the Rin Run Royals any day! It’s never too early to start teaching children important life lessons, and the Squickerwonkers series does just that. It is so easy to empathize and love the flawed characters, while still understanding that these flaws may have consequences. A little more empathy and self awareness is a great concept for a children’s series, and the author presents this in a fun way that’s not too “fluffy” and not too “rough”. Similar to Goldilocks, it’s jusssssst right!

Kinda scary
I saw the author on a show with Josh Gates and they spoke about the books so I ordered them. We got through the first book and he was scared and didn’t want us to read the second book. I’ll save them and maybe try again at a later time.

Fun book
This book is a little creepy in the art department but the book has great cadence and was really fun to listen to when my kids read it. The story is fun and my kids and I really liked it.
