This Should Be Considered A Classic Kids' Movie
Firstly, the movie itself gets 5 stars, no questions asked - I will agree that the print could be better, but I also wonder how many 4 or 5 year olds will notice that fact, or care. I also (See, reviewers do read other reviewers' opinions!) agree that the sequels didn't quite live up to the original, but sequels seldom do...and I agree that there are some scary parts, or - to a 3 year old - even 'sad' parts, such as when Toaster gets pretty banged up as he rescues all of the other appliances, etc. But all of these thoughts and points cannot take away from the fact that this is a clever, cute little movie that I recommend highly to anybody who asks me about it when they see it on our shelf. The plot is discussed in great detail in many of the other reviews, and so I will just add my personal opinion to this list, as a mom. I should mention that my son is autistic and mentally disabled, by the way, and so I have to be very, very careful with what I buy, so that he will not be unnecessarily upset, frightened, etc., and he has done more than fine with TBLT and its' sequels. Perhaps it is an autistic individual's tendency to see things in an unusual way that he never thought the plot - a toaster for the hero, and a bunch of talking appliances? - silly or too offbeat. And I will admit to sitting down and watching it with him and friends' kids, and never once looking at my watch or thinking, "Oh, god, not again." That says something when you consider there have been Disney movies (uh,'Chicken Little') when I seriously hoped that I would choke on my popcorn, if it would get me out of that movie theatre sooner than later. Cute movie, and for adults, the late, great Phil Hartman does Jack Nicholson as an air-conditioner, and it's hilarious. I hope that my few thoughts on this little gem have been of some help, and I really hope that TBLT continues to find new fans. =)

Where "Toy Story 3" Stole Its Best Ideas From
This movie did something odd for me: it immediately downgraded my opinion of "Toy Story 3." Don't get me wrong, TS3 is still a great movie but having now seen this forgotten classic I realized how much of the "daring," "dark," and "edgy' material was lifted wholesale from "The Brave Little Toaster." Belongings dealing with being left behind and forgotten? Check. At least one that is sorely bitter that it was ignored by its owner? Check. A possibly ill-fated quest to find said owner again? Check. Numerous glimpses of the disastrous fate of forgotten possessions? Double Check! This is an odd kind of movie to try and encapsulate without breaking it down point for point. The playful animation and lively anthropomorphic appliances will definitely appeal to any and all youngsters who see it. However the adults in the room are likely to quickly pick up on an underlying current of darkness that is omnipresent and almost unrelenting. That might sound like a warning, but in a way that's part of why I recommend it. It's the kind of movie you'll enjoy as a kid, then come back and revisit and have an entirely new perspective on.The personalities of the various appliances are varied and well rounded, which will help ensure that every viewer will find a favorite. My daughter favors the toaster, while my wife always loved the blanket and I myself gravitate to the radio. Given that much of its plot has now been aped by more successful films, the actual story won't surprise too many. But it's presented very well and with the aforementioned thread of darkness that gives the overall film a pretty unique feel to it. If you're a kid, or an adult who appreciates bold animation than this is well worth seeking out.

Hope it plays
It was in an envelope and the dish was loose, it appears to be scratched. I’ll update after the kiddos watch it!

Nothing hits the spot like a BLT (Brave Little Toaster)
I can not give this movie any less than 5 stars. When I was a child, I remember sitting with my sister and loving this movie. I bought it for myself when a bunch of people I live with were trying to tell me that the movie was not as scary as I remembered. So we watched it again. All of those "Scary" scenes were still there (like the toaster having a dream he is about to be dropped in a bathtub, etc.) and so, I agree that it is a little bit intense at some points.I also agree with some of the reviewers that the movie uses some terms that are not as accepted today- for example, the movie appliences call each other stupid from time to time. I also noticed that the beginning of the movie does "rock" a little bit and is not the greatest in quality. But I do think it is very good to enjoy if this was a favorite movie of yours when you were a kid. I don't want to get into a debate about what is healthy for children to watch or what types of nightmares or language they will learn. I am simply rating this movie at 5 stars because I wanted to buy this movie and it was better than what I thought I was getting (I worried that once Disney bought the rights to this movie, the movie would have added songs or Disney might take some scenes out). This is not the case. If you are really concerned about buying this for you children then don't buy it for them... but be prepared to have children who become scared of twinkies, foam pillows, and static on the radio, because- in my opinion, you can't protect your child from everything. Oops, now I got into a debate.I hope this review was helpful for you!
