Can be used by anyone, not just artists, to extend the use of pencils when they get smaller and harder to hold. Definitely recommend this tool to use all of the pencil easily by extending its length this way!!

No more tossing expensive pencil stubs way. Excellent grip holds the tiniest stub.

I use Prismacolor colored pencils, and as other reviewers have noted, this extender will comfortably hold those pencils.I use Tombow Mono Professional Graphite Drawing pencils as well in my drawings, but they will not fit into this holder. Just making this note to emphasize this is not a universal holder and if you use more than one type of graphite / colored pencil, you may need to buy a couple of different extenders unless there is a quality universal extender available.

This pencil extender by Kohinoor is a particularly excellent design. In the classic quality standard of Kohinoor products, this pencil extender is of very fine quality. The balance is very good. The ease of use is excellent. The top portion is a hexagonal wooden shaft, rendering an overall lightweight of the device without resorting to plastic components. The particular design is quite well executed. The pencil extender/lengthener uses a metal ring around the bottom metal segment that is pulled up for insertion of the pencil stub. After insertion, the ring is then pushed down to lock the stub in place. Again, the choice of metal here instead of plastic gives a firmer grip than most plastic component devices for extending the pencil stub. The device gives a high level of comfort and makes almost impossible to hold pencil stubs write as though they were a new, full length pencil. In this manner, the artist is able to use the pencil right down to the bitter end and get the same results as if he/she were using a brand new full length pencil. Since many fine art colored pencils now run upwards of $3 to $6 per piece, the investment in one or two of these devices pays for itself within about 2 weeks.I very highly recommend this pencil extender/lengthener to all serious artists and give my personal assurance that they will be extremely satisfied with the results. Do give it a try!

I use my pencils to the nub. These are perfect for doing that.

It taste really good

This is a great pencil extender for most pencils and colored pencils. It is not, however, good for Faber Castell Pitt Pastels, which are slightly wider. Even with the adjustable ring, I found it a no go. So three stars, because I specifically checked the reviews on this and found one that said it fit. Kept it anyway because you can always use an extender.

This is an excellent product that has enabled me to resurrect hundreds of pencil stubs otherwise destined for the dustbin!
