Im simply in love with this watch
So i got the seiko 5 snkp17k1 for my birthday recently and have wore it almost daily for 2 months. The immediate thing you notice about this watch is its beautiful dial, I can look at the watch face for hours and hours. The colour is absolutely perfect and it looks much more expensive than it actually is.So how was my experience wearing itIt has been very reliable. Seiko is known for that and you can blindly trust that nothing abnormal is going to happen to your watch even if you use it roughlyAs for the case it is pretty solid but the main con about the watch is the quality of the bracelet. I personally feel that a watch costing 17k should have solid links for a bracket and should not get scratches easily, but the bracelet does have a few small scratches here and there. For the glass, seiko uses hardlex mineral glass so it is prone to some scratches but it should definitely not crack. A sapphire crystal is always preferable though. Finally coming to the movement of the watch: It is an automatic watch with a power reserve of 1½ days id say approximately. You cannot manually wind it but its not much of a issueWearing it regularly will make sure it doesnt stop. Except for the bracelet quality and hardlex glass which does get a few scratches i literally cannot complain about anything else. For the price the watch is a perfect deal, id suggest if youre gonna buy this watch, also go for a leather belt because i got a black leather belt from invella ( its a nice website where you can buy watch belts😃 and that too a butterfly strap), and it elevates the look of the watch even furtherFinally id like to say if youre thinking of getting this watch, just go for it im sure it will not disappoint.

Exquisite and reliable workhorse
Having known the prowess of the 5 series, I bought this beauty. This one has the 7S26 movement (written on the dial face and the weighted rotor), which is very reliable and doesn't need hand cranking (7S26 doesn't allow hacking too). A little caution for first time buyers before setting time:1. Do NOT set the time between 9pm to 4am because that will strain the date change mechanism (calender wheel) inside the watch and if you do it regularly it will jam the mechanism completely. Just set the time at any other time of the day.2. When setting time, do NOT wear the watch (recommended not to wear it)3. While setting time, pull the crown to the middle position and set the date first to the previous day. Then pull the crown farthest and start rotating it. This will proceed the time and your date will change automatically to today's date (current date) subsequently. Then keep adjusting the time according to the hour of the day.If you want to adjust the length of the strap, you can remove the arrow mentioned links and can also shift the clasp bearing to 3 positions as shown. If you're not sure, get the links changed by a good watch service shop.If you're sure, then take a small philips screwdriver, shove it in the hole on the mentioned links and rotate/push it until the locking link slips out. Then pull it by a tweezer. Then slip the springed bearing at the end and adjust it on the clasp...yeah, better get it done by a watch shop personnel, they'll do it without putting scratches on the links/clasp.7S26 movements have roughly 40 hours of power reserve, but since you can't handle crank it, just ensure you're wearing the watch everyday atleast for some time ( You'd love to wear it, it's a treat for the eyes). The hand movement rotates the weighted rotor which winds the mainspring. (Please don't try to pry open the glass panel on the rear).Enjoy!

This review might help, edited after 9 months
The media could not be loaded. Review after 9 months of daily use of Seiko 5:* For a change I have switched to brown leather strap for extra-extra comfortable fit.* I could say, I received authentic watch, I had used it extremely rough since purchased, and I have almost broke the mineral crystal, sharing pictures too.* in these 9 months, I received tonnes of complements from friends and family members on the watch.* it says 50m water resistant, I feared to wash hands with the watch on and avoid it from water splashes as much as possible 🚿 , I was thinking, 11000 Rupees will drown in water. however sharing you the pictures for water test too. This is a remarkable and stylish watch, this watch will serve you for years.**************Review at the time of purchase :This is my first dress watch from Seiko recently ordered from Amazon. Bought at 10.6k price point.* Why Seiko?• its an reliable Brand.• Its Seiko 5 , Having five minimalistic everyday useful functions ,• Its Japanese movement which is powering the watch, Which means no maintenance for Next 8-10 years at least.• its a looker! Its one of the most wanted Seiko 5 series timepiece which have 21 jewels and its an automatic segment. Absolutely superb timepiece!* five attributes, from which the watch gets its name Seiko 5 :• a self-winding automatic movement,• resistance to water 50 mtr,• a day-date in a single window,• a recessed crown, and• a durable case* LooksThe body is complete stainless steel with chrome finish look with a glass back to see inside.Dial have a Mix of peacock blue and blackish shades incorporated with brushed aluminium looks. Not before when you take it outdoors the dial turns to violet bluish shade. Chrome Needles looks cool as well.Awesome for party! Transition in Dial Colors can make you fall for this watch. In the Dark , lume intensity is okayish , and feels fine.I had posted ample snapshots and a video in every angle and light possible as a reference for every new buyer.* Is this a limited edition? After doing a lot of research, i found that this particular model is famous in south east asian market , However the inside movement remains same in European and American seiko 5 models but looks, dial and its colours are slightly different. It comes with a Steel strap which looks normal.Which doesn't makes this watch any less worthy!I had also ordered a brown leather Strap Worth 1300 bucks, for seiko. So that I can switch between straps for any occasions or dress.* Was it required to buy this watch in lockdown? Not at all , in the lockdown i wanted to save money as much as possible, but as we all know birthdays in lockdown sucks! Thus after doing a lot of math with salary , I thought to lift my mood up , and bought this lovely timepiece for myself!Seiko is a brand to get you into luxury segment watches. This seiko 5 is a gem of a watch but its a Simple five function watch!*Cons:tachymeter , chronograph, stopwatch Of accuracy 1/100th sec , day- night representing wheel , is not available in this watch. However I was not looking for Any of those those features in this seiko 5. Hence made the purchase For the simplicity of the watch.‘ luxury & reliable’ watch.I could have easily raised up my budget to 17k and could have bought seiko 5 divers watch. Or if I wanted just a brand on my wrist , i could had picked up Tommy hilfiger or Tissot.I felt style ,looks, colour at this price point is perfect, hence made my purchase.I hope this review helps you! Finally, Amazon as always prompt in their deliveries, On time , helpful customer service, delivery experience with this watch was Contact less and smooth , overall Great service , Thankyou.
