Everflow Supplies CCFU0034-NL 3/4" No Lead Copper Union Fitting with Sweat to Female Threaded Connects

Big wrenches 1.5in box wrench (or 15in adjustable) needed. I didn't think it would take so much torque. that said This performed so much better than the other sweat/sweat fitting I gave it 5 stars.Caution:I got the wrong part on one order, the bags are easy to mix up. Apperantly there is a "color" option that allows selection of sweat to sweat fittings has a confusing label on it that makes it hard to track what fitting a customer is looking for. Thank goodness for quick shipping and easy return policy. I seem to have been confused and clicked wrong.Mine is leaking, was very very very careful to not ding the mating surfaces... and it's hard to get a pipe wrench in there... it requires a 10inch and an 8inch or 2 8inch pipe wrenches to secure because my inch and a quarter wrench, and my adjustable wrenches won't fit on any of the nuts.I'm going to take a look at it again... the union that I replaced was gushing water, so even if there is installer error, this should reduce the chances of installer error.I think it may have been heated up a little much and then cooled a little too quickly to make it hard... but I'm not certain of this because I was also very careful not to get any solder on the male portion of the union which has the (female) nut around it. The side with the female threads also has the concave taper to receive the other side. I may try to use toothpaste to polish it up, but that didn't help my last one. There is very little help on youtube about unions, searches only show sharkbite couplers instead.. I've used a few unions before this, and I'm wondering if I screwed up or if everybody makes crappy couplers now. Still giving 5 stars because it is the right product, and it's the best I have come across.

Works as should

Copper fitting was too tight for 3/4" copper tubing due to slight crimp on edge. The fitting had to be filed and polished to fit correctly.

With the current supply chain issues finding certain plumbing items has been difficult. These folks had the part I needed and delivered it on the date promised. Great job.

Great quality and cheaper than home depot

Soldered just fine, it’s my first time soldering piping. No solder at all on the inside portion. The joint itself leaked a few drops a minute at first. Had to crank it down with an 18” and 24” wrench a few times. After that it seems to have stopped dripping. If this doesn’t work I’ll add a little pipe dope to the copper piece inside and crank it down again. Overall a nice solution instead of having to cut and resolder a joint.
