FilofaxPersonal Finsbury Black organiser

I love this planner more than I even expected to!I thought I would hate personal size inserts (I bought this to use as a wallet), but they are bigger than I expected, and I really love the size of the cover itself.Pros:-Color is what I expected and it is gorgeous.-Super soft leather cover. It's a hard cover (not floppy), but there is padding between the layers. It's just nice to hold!-Having used many cheap ring planners, I'm impressed with how the rings feel when opening and closing. They are tight. I'm sure they will loosen over time and develop a gap, but my last cheap planner barely lasted a day.-Mine was a Warehouse Deals purchase, so there were some flaws. But they are barely noticeable. I spent a few minutes just trying to figure out what they were. Well worth it for the price!!-I love all the extra paper it came with. I won't use the calendar pages, info pages, or dividers, but it came with a lot more than I was expecting! And lots of note paper of all different kinds (blank, grid, lined, colored and white).-The snap opens and closes beautifully. I play with it way more than I should...Cons: (Keep in mind, these are for your awareness. None of this bothers me to the point that I dislike the planner.)-The pen loop is tiny! And nothing with a rubber grip will ever make it through. I went through most of my pens beforehand I found one that fit in there. (This is probably my biggest problem- I'd love the option to carry a different pen in there).-Also with the pen loop, it tends to get in the way when I try to get into the zipper pocket in the back. It is stiff, so moving it out of the way is difficult.-Back zipper pocket has no room for expanding. It is a tight pocket. I wanted to use it for change, but it won't hold much, and they need to lay flat. Would probably work for holding small papers, business cards, or stamps.-Front card slots are a little difficult to use at first. Like the back zipper pocket, the material is tight and doesn't stretch (which is actually probably a good thing). With a little use they have been getting easier to insert and remove cards.-Mine came with 2016 calendar inserts instead of 2017. I'm not bothered because 1. It was a warehouse deal. 2. I wasn't planning on using them anyway.

This planner is well designed and I love the set up. The rings are great and tight & I can stuff it more then I thought I could. I really don't like the pen loop though. It is so small that it will only accommodate a very slim pen. I'm having trouble finding one I like that will fit in the loop.I also felt that the paper used for the inserts was of very poor quality. It is very thin and so far everything but pencil has bleed through.Over all I felt that for the price of the planner, it should have been a little better. Especially when you consider the huge following that Filofax has.

She is absolutely beautiful! The color is rich and vibrant. The leather is buttery soft. She's the perfect size save for one detail. If I had to change anything, I'd make the rings bigger. I'd love to see Filofax give an option for 1.75" rings.

I really like the deep raspberry color of the Finsbury Filofax personal. My only complaint is that it's always trying to close on me. I have a time keeping it open to write in. I'm sure this will change the more it's used. Well worth the price I paid. I have so much to keep track of; I will get the A5 next time.

I love love love my Finsbury! it's super durable, as are all the Filofax products, but I was super impressed with the customer service I got from the company when one of my binder rings had a gap when I first received it. They let me send it back and they sent a replacement. It was so quick I barely was inconvenienced without my Filofax.I lovethe craftsmanship and the beautiful vibrant color. And yes, I'm going to get many many more.

I am in love with this thing!!! I've tried for several years to use my phone and computer to keep myself organized but I'm the type of person who really needs to write things down to remember them. This is the perfect size to fit on all by my small purses. I like that it also has a zipped pocket for things like checks and money.

The other filofax dry rotted. I needed an new one and this one feels great (very supple leather) and does what I need it to do. I have a phone that keeps my schedule so I don't need the date planner part but the rest of it is good. I still like to use paper.

Of course I'm in love with it....it's a Filofax. The one issue is that it won't stay open on its own, but I'm hoping it will break in with use.

The Finsbury is a nice mid-range model from Filofax. It was my first Filofax and I'll always remember it fondly, but it did have some issues, too, with my biggest irk being the flatability.PROS:- Beautiful colour and leather- Feels very sturdy and luxurious- Large rings- Snappy popper- Overall classy feelCONS:- Does not attain flatability. The leather seems too stiff and too shaped, it does not flop open like the Maldens.- The lining is a thin fabric over paper, which will wear out, unsticking off the paper and leaving wrinkles and odd lines of wear along bends.- Over time the pebble texture starts wearing its colour off, leaving a 'skinned' appearance on the bumps. My Filofax has only been used on tables and carried safely in soft bags, so it's not very hard wearing.- The pen loop is leather. You can either find a pen that fits exactly, or you can stretch it out a bit by putting fatter pens in there, but it doesn't look great. I've done it anyway.- My rings had a bit of misalignment. I should have sent it off when I noticed, but I was too young and excited to even thing about giving it back. Get a replacement if it happens! The papers catch every time I flip though my Finsbury and it's very annoying.- The personal size really is a bit odd when having to write in it, especially larger amounts. It certainly is a bit cramped.My Filofax is almost 8 years old, so it held up well enough. A few months into owning it, the flatability started bothering me and I started scrunching up the cover everywhere in the hopes of breaking in the leather. It has left my Finsbury much softer and floppier, but even then it does not lie fully open :(

I love my Filofax and use it every day. It is bursting with info which I can add and update at a moment's notice instead of having to get the phone out, log on, find the app, type with stiff fingers...Admittedly, it's heavier than a phone but it's so much easier for me.

I am in love with my Filofax.the cover is a beautiful colour, and because it is real leather it feels & looks gorgeous!The first one I ordered the ring binder was misaligned, but I returned it & they replaced it no problem.It fits perfectly in my handbag, and the inserts are just the right size, for diary & notes. I also use mine as a meal planner,a finanace planner, a house move planner, a wardrobe planner... you get the idea.It really has sorted my life out since I got it, I feel I can relax more knowing that all the things that were bouncing around in my headsuch as appointments, to dos, things to remember are all written up and decorated in my filofaxI did purchase the smaller sized filofax's but returned them both because they were unpractically small.I can fit everything in this.You can buy cheap-er inserts from whismith

I bought this as a present to myself having started a new job. I am hoping that it will allow me to be more organised as I get used to my new phone etc. This is not an A5 size organiser but slightly smaller than that, ideal for any size bag. It's a good colour to see in the bottom of your handbag and has a lovely leather smell. I love it!! I bought this as a present to myself as I have been lusting after the Finsbury for a few years now. When I saw this Finsbury at such a bargain price I couldn't pass it up. Saw a review below regarding poor inserts and a stain but I am thrilled to say that is not the case with myself.Although I already have a functioning system in my old Filofax that I plan on simply transferring over, inserts were not an issue for me as I felt I was getting such a bargain on the binder itself but it's nice to know they didn't skimp on inserts either.All inserts included in the purchase for me were:- Transparent flyleaf- Filofax black cover page (or dashboard)- Six plain cream dividers with side tabs labelled 1- 6.- A CLEAR filofax ruler/ page marker (so so SO happy its clear!!)- "To Do" inserts.- Plain white lined paper- White Grid notepaper- Blue, Green and Pink Lined paper- Contacts inserts- 2015 Week on 2 pages diary inserts- Personal information pages/ religous holidays/ registration pages etc- Clear top opening envelopeI think they provided a great selection of inserts for both experienced filofax users and beginners.
