I can't say enough good things about this blend (or this company)! I made a roller bottle diluted* at 2% in FCO and we use it every time we go outside. No bug bites for anyone in our family since we started using it, which is something of a minor miracle since we live in Houston. The one morning I forgot to put it on my daughter and myself before we went outside to wave goodbye to Daddy as he left for work, two mosquitoes landed on my daughter's head in the few minutes we were out there. This stuff really works!!The dominant smell is citronella, which I don't mind, but when it's been on for a while it starts to smell like patchouli, which I really don't like. Not a big deal at all, though; at that point I either reapply the roller or wipe it off with a water wipe. :)I gave a roller bottle of diluted Shield Me to a friend because her son was constantly being eaten by bugs and the last time I saw her she told me he's had zero bites since she started using it on him. I'm seriously so thankful for this blend.*If you aren't sure what dilution percentage is safe for you and your family, be sure to check out Plant Therapy's dilution chart magnet (free download from their site right now)! I found conflicting info about dilution elsewhere on the internet, and really think it's safest to follow PT's chart since that's the dilution they intend for the oils they produce. And their customer service team is so helpful if you have any questions! :)

The media could not be loaded. We use this to make our own nontoxic bug spray works great and roller bottles or as a spray mixed with coconut oil.

Third purchase. Wonderful organic oil blend to naturally repel bugs. I dilute it in water or apply a few drops straight to pulse points of exposed skin. Definitely helps keep insects off of my son and I.

I hate DEET and the smell of bug spray, but I hate mosquitos more! I live in Oklahoma, and we had a lot of rain, so mosquitos have been out of control. I added about 20 drops of this blend to a small spray bottle (2 oz). Then I filled it with lavender witch hazel and a few drops of almond carrier oil. I shake before I spray, and apply liberally. I haven't had a single bite where I have applied this. I thought my pants covered my ankles and didn't spray there. I got two bites there, and nothing on my exposed arms. I have mowed the grass multiple times at dusk wearing this stuff without a single bite. I'm impressed. It smells good to me and doesn't leave me feeling like I need a shower after sitting in chemicals all day like a DEET spray. No skin irritation either even on my sensitive skin kiddo. Just don't apply it directly and you will have a great, non-toxic mosquito deterrent!

I love the way this stuff smells! I'd buy it again just for the smell, but if you're hoping for serious mosquito repellent, this isn't it. That being said, maybe it works on normal mosquitoes, but we seem to have mutant mosquitoes this year and this stuff just doesn't cut it.

the strong scent fades relatively quickly. i started with three drops. now i know two will suffice. i put it on myself and then pet my dogs and we’re good to go. i like this smell more than the much more expensive doterra version. i definitely recommend.

I got this to use as part of my 12 month olds all natural summer skin protection. And it works AMAZINGLY!! Once I started using this (I mixed 15 drops in a 200ml spray bottle) there were no more bug bites. Which says a lot since we are outside at least 1-2 hours a day!

Mixed with witch hazel seems to be working pretty well.
