Perfect size to store gardening seeds which is why I bought it. You are able to lock it and it's portable. It is not strong enough to openly store valuables but it's small enough to store things secretly. Perfect if you are looking to store something you don't want your kids to get into. Or important keepsakes.

I bought these for pantry storage after an infestation of mice. The lid is tight-fitting and the steel is sturdy enough for this purpose. If you want a true lock box for security, that will be moved around often and really needs to be locked securely, this is not your box. The metal for the lock flap is thin and could be twisted off. If you want it for really little kids, it will be fine, but an adult or big kid can easily pry the latch apart with a butter knife or screwdriver even with a small padlock. For my purpose, it's perfect as I will not be locking it all, just closing it tightly. It won't dent unless you drop it or bang it really hard. These are good for inside, household use. For volume size: you can get 3-4 bags of rice or beans in the box, as an estimate.

These boxes would be great, but the construction is sloppy, leaving sharp edges I had to hammer into place to avoid cutting myself on the box. The latch is also not very durable, and came apart with a moderate tug on the lock. I have ordered quite a few of these boxes, and most of them are ok, hence the 3 stars. The constructions seems to have gone downhill recently - my first set of boxes over a year ago were fine.

We used this to lock up medications in our home. It is perfectly holds all of our OTC and presc meds and is easily locked with a padlock. It seems to be built very well.

I am extremely disappointed; the worst quality I have ever purchased online did not meet expectations, did not look like the image presented online: no smooth rivets, no tight seams. The top and bottom don't even lineup, as you can see from the photos. I would not recommend it; find your Metal storage lockbox elsewhere.
